Photographer’s Note
Lake Vaihiria, Tahiti is perhaps one of the most beautiful places on earth that I have seen. We signed up for a 4x4 "safari tour" of the rugged inner island of Tahiti. This adventure lasts all day long and consists of traveling over some bumpy, rocky roads in a Range Rover or truck. It was a very memorable experience, but definitely not for those who get carsick. It is a must for those staying on Tahiti more than one night.
Halfway through the tour, in the middle of the island, lies Lake Vaihiria, which is French Polynesia's largest lake. It is home to Tahiti's sacred eels and is a reservoir for the rainwater that plunges down the walls of the Papenoo crater. The surrounding area is definitely difficult to reach, but worth it to see the extraordinary views.
PP: Sepia tone, Increased Contrast, Decreased Brightness to diminish the fog and clouds somewhat at the top of the photo.
I will post the color photographs at a later point.

Hi Cheryl!
This is a GREAT place! The atmosphere is well transcribed by the sepia tone, but I feel there is a little bit too much contrast accentuation?
I'm waiting the color version impatiently!
Thank you for posting!

Nice image Cheryl - reminds me of those Victorian plates - not just the sepia but also the composition and clarity of the image.
best wishes

Cheryl,
Beutiful composition, but I'm not sure about the sepia. It doesn't really give me a clear idea what the beautiful place looks like.
I like the photo, especially because of the way the fog is settling over the mountains.
