Photographer’s Note
I came to Montmort last week in order to visit friends.
I decided to shoot the castle because it was illuminated by the bright sunset.
This village is located in Champagne (also called Brie) and is close to the famous Champagne vineyards (Moët, Mercier, etc...).
The first known occupant of this castle was Germond de Montmort in 1042. Then, in 1394 the Hangest family buyed and reconstructed this feudal castle. It was finished in 1577. In 1704, Pierre Raymond de Montmort purchased the fortress. He was well-known for his thesis "Essai d'analyse des jeux de hasard". Since that date, the descendants of his family are living there.
In the next note, I will detail architectural aspects of the castle.
I started by sharpening the photo. I tuned the levels (in fact I only modified the white point a little bit).
I increased the saturation (+10) and the contrast (+10). I added the frame.

Salut Michael,
J'adore regarder les châteaux, ils me font rêver. Bien vu. Amicalement.

Very nice and interesting picture. Personally, I think that a thinner frame would be more in tune with the subject.
Amicalenment,

Hello Michael, absolute beautiful light here on the castle, you really came with the golden hour. Really beautiful light!
I think I would have cloned a little bit more on the right hand side, so that the traffic sign and both the poles would have gone.
I'm glad you mention your workflow in post processing, sharpening is actually something that you should do as a last action, after cropping and resizing and any other things, because some of these actions, might influence the sharpeness.

The light in this one is truly beautiful… The orange tones of the sunset create a magical atmosphere which suits very well this beautiful and well preserved castle. Also a very nice framing and sharpness.

Belle architecture bien mise en valeur par cette lumière superbe et ce ciel légèrement nuageux. La partie basse du château (avec ses deux petits clochetons) semble une réplique en miniature de la partie haute.
