Photographer's Note

Vue rapproché du chateau de Beynac, dans le dernier banc de brouillard résiduel de ce matin.Voir la note d'hier pour les infos en français.

This is the castel of Beynac,in the early morning mist, taken from the same place as yesterday's pic but zoom in.Beynac is on the north side of the Dordogne river.During the 100 years war, this was the limit of the french influence. On the south side was Castelnaud castle, the english side. So,there was a lot of action here. The Beynac castle was never attacked during that war, because of its very difficult access.
Nowadays, the castel is in private hands and all the revenues goes towards the renovation which are spanned on the next 100 years.(magic number).
Luc Besson's movie on Joan of Arc's life was filmed in this castle.
In passing, the war of 100 years lasted 118 years.
I will be back soon with more views of the castle.
