Photographer’s Note
Another view of my first fountain picture of the Concorde place down the Champs Elysées. Different framing, different mood, probably more dramatic. I find this angle really attractive...
At this time of the year, it's a pity because there is almost no one on this place apart from the roaming cars. On the other side, it allowed me to spend as much time as I wanted to test different framing of the fountain :)
And following Nina's advice, I made another version. Let me know whiwh one you prefer...

Wow. Beautiful, sharp where it should be and soft everywhere else. Very beautiful lighting, but who in gods name gave that fish a lasersword!

Interesting shot Steven. If I may make a suggestion, I would advise you try another crop removing some more of the "bowl" of the fountain on the left. By doing that, you will help with making the figure your focus. At the moment the eye doesn't quite know where to settle. Unfortunately the figure's features are blown out, but this could not have been helped.

Nice point of view ! Indeed, to have try it, it's not so simple to have a good composition on the Concorde's Place because of peoples, cars,...
unfortunately, we can see the odd color of the night sky of Paris (and of some others great town I suppose).

Lovely shot, Steven! Excellent DOF and exposure control. The workshop is indeed much easier to read.

I'm glad you've posted a detail because it's excelent! Great DOF and magnificent colors!
Your composition is great and you've handled the exposition perfectly because the water look like light beems without causing over or underexposed areas.

I'm very impressed with all your night pictures. I have seen that most of the time you use a time exposure of around 2 seconds. I would be interested to know if this is a deliberated choice or the result of bracketing.
"Coup de chapeau" for all these night shots.

Like the original version best! Don't mind the purple sky, it is after all the 'city of lights'. very well chosen angle and great detail. Well done!

I like the contrasty colors in this photo. The subjects are well positioned as well.

Etonnante cette teinte rosée qui rappelle le bon vin du pays, dans une fontaine ça ne s'invente pas ! :-)))
Belle pose en tout cas.
