This photo goes out to one of our local Marseille TE’ers, Gigi…hope you weren’t expecting something picturesque, and at least had a good laugh from this. :)
If you’re ever in town and want some of the best pizza on the streets, then make your way here to Charly Pizza. Sliced and rolled into a cone shape, it’s dripping with grease and deliciousness…plus it’s quick and easy for those “on the go.” Just off the cities main avenue, La Canebière, near the Noailles metro stop… you’ll find this little nugget. Sure, it’s nothing that will blow your mind…but forget the fancy restaurants, high-priced gourmet meals and snobby waiters …this is where you’ll get that local flavor, literally!
“Un moitiee de jambom, s'il vous plait. Merci. Au revoir.” I’ve used that simple phrase many times, and each one ended with a full stomach and a satisfied smile. I enjoyed it from the very first try back in ’89, and have been fortunate enough to visit the city a handful of times since, and always make it a point to stop by.
Thanks for taking a look.

Ahah ah!!!

Beside of your excellent photos I'm always enjoying very much your intro notes. Interesting to reed them.
But as I said I also enjoy viewing your photo creation.
Always a plenty of creativity included. This is a simple photo, but you have excellently captured the street atmosphere with the take away pizza shop. Excellent snapshot, I like the fact that nobody posing for you I the staged photos).
Very well done.

Hope Charly knows how to make a pizza, Jason - but to write his name... Chrlie, should read.
Anyway, smiled when saw this, and enjoy - a real dalily-life scene on town.

A pleasant street scene with people and colours. Everyone is waiting for their pizza, they take no attention to a snapshot photographer. A nice picture.

Donuts, check. Pizza, check. Greasy deliciousness, check. All the workings of a fine meal, and I am a hungry man right now, so would happily punch a panda bear for a slice of hot pizza from here. Sadly, my fridge looks like something from a nature documentary at the moment, there is way too much green stuff in there, so I may have to make do with something less satisfying!
Nice shot of all these people, I particularly like the woman on the right, now that what I call engrossed in your food!
All the best

Can t believe that having visited the charming, smart Cote-dAzur, you chose a pizza kiosk where I can see Coke tins also
Never will forget fancy, french restaurants, along with chineses, turkishs, indians and first of all argentine restaurants with all kind of meats and salats
With a fat free yogurt in hand
Wish you a great week
Puaj, never try to eat pizza at the street, the cheese would melt in your hand or in your chothes

I am so glad I am looking at this on a full stomach - even then, nah! Nice an colorful photo from Marseille, one that would be deemed too common to be printed in tourist brochures but that is exactly what I like about it.

Every body loves pizzas. The shop has a display similar to India and it looks more like an Asian food joint, where you are served over the counter. In India there are two companies who have grounded their feet in the pizza food market- Dominos Pizza and Pizza Hut.There is a large following of KFC too.The urban population all over the world is crazy about junk food.TFS.

Jason, when I saw this shot, I assumed it was from Venice CA or some similar place. I did a double-take when I saw the location. Nice candid shot.

Another interesting comeback to to streets of Paris. When they said me: "Oh, NYC (Paris, L.A. etc) is crazy city." I just remember my daily life work and I glad to be there and take a bit of this madness too. I see the streets are not so clear, but it's not-important detail, Paris is wonderful place, no doubt.
Best wishes from LA!

I'm not sure I'd stop there for lunch, particularly if this is one in a long row of take away restaurants. Your recommendation though sounds very serious and valid and the natural tones you captured on the food look delicious:) I like very much this photo because it's casual and unpretentious, spontaneous and real too. There are interesting details and real life colours. Most of all I enjoy watching the people. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a lovely evening,
