Place du Griffe, Octon. Octon is a commune in the Hérault department in the Languedoc-Roussillon region in southern France. A pretty enough little place, but of course what this image is really all about is the 2CV. "The most intelligent application of minimalism ever to succeed as a car". However also interesting to us was the caveau beyond on the left. This cellar was the local outlet offering Mas de Chimères wines. Which were nice.

I have often wondered what these little cars are like to drive, or indeed be a passenger in. Love the green theme in the photo and the characteristic red shutters. A crisp image and great fun to look at.
Kind Regards, Ann

The car does catch the eye, I think one of the most iconic vehicles to come from Europe. We don't see many of these on the roads any more, so nice to see this is in such good nick! Looks like a beautiful place, I really like the red colors of the wooden shutters, and the green plantlife all around it.

une bonne photo, ces anciennes 2CV sont toujours attrayantes. C'est bien observé, et il y a une belle opposition de couleurs avec les éléments rouges de la maison.

An interesting note and again an amazingly clear and sharp photograph considering that it must have been scanned from either a colour transparency or colour negative - a real tribute to both your scanning skills and also your Nikon dedicated film scanner.
The light and colours are beautiful, the exposure perfect and your details and sharpness are exquisite.

I would echo John`s comments,it`s a fine conversion to digital reproducing those lovely green tones perfectly.
The iconic 2CV is well positioned in an attractive and nicely lit location.

very iconic picture for France in general.
