Hello friends and colleagues, today I offer the farewell of the city of Colmar, this is the last image of beautiful climb, until the next visit I have planned, I hope you like it, then some letters on the city.
Colmar (France: Colmar; Alsatian: Colmer; German: Colmar, between 1871-1918 and 1940-1945: Kolmar) is a town and commune in the department of Haut-Rhin Alsace, France.
It is the prefecture (capital) of the district of the same name.
The old city center, well preserved houses several buildings, sometimes large, German Gothic and early Renaissance and a number of old churches, among which is the collegiate church of San Martín (XIII century) as the largest and most notable.
Local artist Martin Schongauer XV century painted what is considered his masterpiece, The Madonna of the Roses, in the Eglise des Dominicains (Dominican church). The famous Isemheim Altarpiece by Matthias Grünewald highlight is the treasure housed in the Museum Unterlinden city. The museum, opened in 1853, is housed in the former convent of the Dominican order of "Unterlinden" (meaning "under the linden trees").
In 1834, was born in Colmar Frédéric Auguste Bartholdi, creator of the famous Statue of Liberty, located in New York City.
Once a year, in August, the Fair hosts Colmar wines.
However, the greatest art is that Colmar retains traditional ambience with its wooden frame houses carefully preserved, filled with flowering geraniums on hot days.
Colmar has an interesting center, studded with old buildings, a famous museum, Unterlinden, and carefully Little Venice.
Furthermore, in the vicinity of the city there are some other points of interest, such as the magnificent town of Riquewihr, and great food and wine care also linger conception of art.
Unterlinden Museum is housed in a former Dominican convent founded in the thirteenth century, with a Gothic cloister considered the best in the region.
About 300,000 visitors come each year to the center, which exposes excellent art exhibitions of the Middle Ages and the Renaissance, as well as archaeological and ethnographic, on two floors and a basement.
But the core of this whole attraction is the famous Issenheim altarpiece, painted in the early sixteenth century by Grünewald to decorate a convent chapel Issenheim (20 miles south of Colmar)
The ten paintings of Grünewald are masterful. The painter left an impressive Crucifixion, which amazed the wincing, luminous shades and many details, among which is the painful aspect of Christ's flesh.
This crucifixion of Mathias Grünewald painter has placed as one of the most prominent European and world religious art of all time.
Little Venice, a beautiful set of traditional houses, full of flowers, beautiful half-timbered, line up along the street and Fish Pier, next to the canal.
These houses were owned by fishermen. Also lived in the neighborhood gardeners traditionally used by the channel to drive the fruits to the city market. Today the boats carry tourists rather quiet.
Very near this neighborhood is that of the tanners, with houses of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, lovingly restored.
Around the city center of Colmar houses abound timbered Alsatian, artistic balconies, turrets, balconies and other decorative elements.
In addition to the proliferation of this type of construction, stands in Colmar exquisite care of this important heritage, full of flowers during the most benign.
This gorgeous set spans much of the city, but is particularly notable in the walk from the Cathedral Square to the Old Customs and Little Venice.

I like your point of view here with the curving street. The architecture is very nice and the light gives saturated colors and sharp details.

A wonderful series of pictures from Colmar, you've done well to promote tourism through the imagery of this beautiful and enchanting city. A solid composition, I love the winding road leading us off, as if to say "goodbye" for now. :) Strong colors once again with fine detail, and the fade into the light blue sky is also a neat and associative sentiment to this last look at the city. Bravo! Have a great day ahead.

A really nice presentation of this little town of Colmer taken from a good POV with the curves in the road and showing the people sitting outside the restaurant . Love these half timbered buildings with so much detail and the colours are very pleasant. A really striking shot Angel.

The road created a really cool effect for the foreground of your shot! Like the way it has been seen and photographed. The architecture of this place looks very interesting and for sure it was a good idea to take this presentation. Great work. TFS.
Have a nice day!

This is a lovely and picturesque street which you have captured from a very good viewpoint. The street makes two gentle curves, a lamppost frames the view nicely to the right and the entire photo is filled with very pretty buildings. Red flowers, a red marquee and some red tablecloths break the grey, brown and green dominance of the buildings. The little restaurant serves as a good focus with its gathering of people.

I like the point of view with the street wending its way through the frame giving depth to the composition. People dining on the terrace bring the scene to life and are an invitation to join in. Fine saturated colours and excellent sharpness shows the lovely architecture to good effect.

These half-timbered buildings display very strong and attractive colours against the pale blue sky. The peaceful street winds pleasantly along the houses and the company at the outdoor restaurant seem to be enjoying themselves. A very fine picture!

Colmar is very close to the area we visited in Strasbourg and I would have loved to venture to this city but, when you are on a cruise, you cannot choose where you go!
I like how you have chosen a viewpoint which uses the road in a very sinuous way, to lead around the frame to a strong point within it. There are sharp, interesting details of architecture and social enjoyment, along the way, and a good terminal feature. We cannot always command blue skies and this shows how well you can work without one.
Have a great day,

I like the reversed s shape of the road which adds superb sweeping lead in lines and perspective. Excellent sharpness and the cloudy sky has compensated you with a wonderful diffused light & maximum shadow detail. The al fresco diners at left animate the scene. Tfs!

This picture is perfectly using vertical format. It includes the full height of the unique architecture in eastern France. The road is winding, gives a visual enjoyment. Thanks for sharing.

Those old and narrow streets makes the scene more intimate, nice place to have a meal and watch people except one will also inhale the fume from passing cars. Good lighting and nice details. Well done, tfs.

I like very much this view of the picturesque town of Colmar, you've created an interesting, comprehensive and elegant composition in a vertical frame. The curving road and the lamp post counterbalance the row of facades effectively. The view is very comfortable, giving ample space to the foreground and over the tops of the buildings. Rendering of details is excellent and the moody colours get a nice boost by the contrast of the brighter tones. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a great evening,
