The old casino on the seafront in Arromanches-les-Bains, now abandoned.
Arromanches-les-Bains (or, simply Arromanches) is a commune in the Calvados department in the Basse-Normandie region in north-western France. It is located on the coast (approximately 25 kilometres north-west of Caen) in the heart of the area where the Normandy landings took place on D-Day, on 6 June 1944.
The town lies along the stretch of coastline designated as Gold Beach during the D-Day landings, one of the beaches used by British troops in the Allied invasion. Arromanches was selected as one of the sites for two Mulberry Harbours built on the Normandy coast and used to off-load men and equipment shipped across the English Channel from the United Kingdom. Sections of the Mulberry Harbour at Arromanches still remain today with huge concrete blocks sitting on the sand, and more can be seen further out at sea.
Today Arromanches is mainly a tourist town. Situated in a good location for visiting all of the battle sites and War Cemeteries, there is also a museum with information about Operation Overlord, the military code name for the D-Day landings, and in particular, the Mulberry harbours.

An a skew angel over this mansion, show well it's old grandeur, and what a shame this was left empty. maybe in future it will have a restored honor.
details are impressive, easily colud had been a local inn or a B&B place.
Well taken, good details.
Enjoy a nice sunday,

Bonjour, cher Stephen,
Heureusement le casino n'a pas subi les affres de la dernière guerre et du débarquement.
Le casino conserve tout à fait l'esprit architectural de la région.
Une très bonne mise en image.

What a shame for such a beautiful old building to be abandoned. You have chosen a great POV and the dramatic grey overcast sky certainly adds to the solemn feel of your shot.
Thanks for sharing

The subject is well framed. The point of view is allowing me to distinguish the details and colors of the architecture of the abandoned house. The cloudy sky is giving a good contrast to the colors. Have a nice day.

Another beautiful and majestic abandoned building. I love the design of this, it looks so grand considering how small the building appears to be. Excellent POV to enforce this too. Great colour and a great sky!
All the best
