The CHÂTEAU DES MILANDES 15th 19th 20th centuries built in 1489, in Périgord Noir, is close to the VALLEY OF THE DORDOGNE in the municipality of Castelnaud-la-Chapelle. Registered on historic monuments in 1986 and 2009.

The church or chapel of Milandes du 15th century. Registered on historic monuments since 1926.

The CHÂTEAU DES MILANDES rented by Joséphine Baker and her husband from 1937, became Joséphine Baker's property in 1947 until its sale in 1968.

_ The DORDOGNE is formed in its origin, of brooks taking their spring up to 1694 meters in height, on the sides of the Puy de Sancy in the Massif Central. After a course of 483 kilometers, and the crossing of a catchment basin of 23870 km², it flows in the Garonne, at the bec d'Ambès in the estuary of Gironde, before joining the Atlantic Ocean. The status of the Dordogne made sometimes discusses, between that of an tributary river of the Garonne, or that of a river flowing into the Atlantic Ocean, by the estuary of the Gironde.

CASTELNAUD-LA-CHAPELLE is a french municipality, located in the department of the Dordogne of the Aquitaine region, populated 47 Castelnaudéziens en 2009, distributed out of 20.9 km², that is to say 22.8 hab./km².

In the Périgord Noir, the village of Castelnaud-la-Chapelle is one of the most beautiful village of France.

Une composition qui fleure bon la France !
Le cadrage est une véritable invitation à la découverte de Castelnaud-la-Chapelle.
Il est assez rare de rencontrer un château en bordure de route.
Bel effet de perspective avec ce virage à droite.

La haie cadre bien le château. La prise de vue permet de distinguer les détails et les couleurs du château des Milandes. La bonne luminosité donne de belles teintes aux couleurs de l'image. Bon weekend.

Good composition, well balanced and nicely framed.
The curve and the hedge are leading my eyes into the photo. Great colours, light and sharpness. Effective contras, especially between the tower and the sky.

J'aime bien cette belle petite rue qui forme une belle diagonale dans l'image et lui donne une belle profondeur.La lumière est superbe sur l'ensemble et surtout sur la tour de ce très beau château.

when viewing this, how can we not try to think back to the 1500's!

Magnifique cette composition, qui montre dans le même plan, le beau château à côté de la belle chapelle, j'aime la composition avec la courbe de la rue, qui semble conduire l'œil vers les monuments fantastiques. Le ciel est magnifique et permet de compléter une image fabuleuse.
Comme tout simpre très soigneusement et parfaitement présenté.

a wonderful picture, a very impressive composition with many interesting elements well placed and balanced in the frame. The point of view from which you composed the picture is great. The perspective is superb created by the curving fence on one side and the straight one on the other. The chateau and the church look magnificent in this light and among the colours of the garden and the sky. Lighting is amazing, you've managed to capture the intensity of the brilliant sunlight without loosing any details and to produce well balanced and pleasing contrasts. Hi Joel,

You're capturing well this scenery by a good composition and excellent tone/clarity, so it's interesting and impressive to see both of historical architecture(CHURCH and CHÂTEAU). It seems to typical medieval architecture and now to be repaired/saved well. And, here looks as a typical peaceful/local place. The green fence draws out an additional good effect in this beautiful scenery.
