The "Place de la Rode", the Rode square, in Domme, on which stood in medieval time, fairs, markets, and tortures.

The "Place de la Rode", at the junction of Grand Rue street and the "Porte de la Combe" street, down to the Porte de la Combe, one of the four gates which are always the entrances to the village of Domme, with the "Porte Delbos", the "Porte Basse", lower gate, and the "Porte des Tours" is the largest, the towers gate .

The village of Domme in Périgord Noir is one bastide, established in 1281 by king of France Philippe le Hardi, on 1245-1285, which dominates the valley of the DORDOGNE, 250 meters in height.

_ The DORDOGNE is formed in its origin, of brooks taking their spring up to 1694 meters in height, on the sides of the Puy de Sancy in the Massif Central. After a course of 483 kilometers, and the crossing of a catchment basin of 23870 km², it flows in the Garonne, at the bec d'Ambès in the estuary of Gironde, before joining the Atlantic Ocean. The status of the Dordogne made sometimes discusses, between that of an tributary river of the Garonne, or that of a river flowing into the Atlantic Ocean, by the estuary of the Gironde.

DOMME is a french municipality, located in the department of the Dordogne of the Aquitaine region, populated 989 Dommois in 2009, distributed out of 24,9 km², that is to say 39,7 hab./km².

Domme is one of the Most Beautiful Villages of France .

Well composed using the principle of three with impeccable sharpness & the people adding scale & context. I like how the 2 roofs are leaning towards each other. A marvellous blue sky with good lighting contrasts. Bon weekend!

La grandeur de la Place donne de la profondeur à la composition. La prise de vue permet de voir les activités et les détails et les couleurs de l'architecture des immeubles. La bonne luminosité met en valeur les couleurs de l'image. Bonne journée.

Bonjour Joel,

On dirait que tu gardes l'espace de stationnement pour quelqu'un et qu'en attendant, profitant de la beauté de l'endroit tu as décidé d'utiliser un plan très près du sol pour allonger la belle petite place pour la faire paraître immense.Une belle réalisation.

Bonsoir Joël,

Hélas oui, les exécutions publiques devaient se tenir sur de grandes places, pour accueillir les trop nombreux badauds venus assister au "spectacle"... Autre temps, autres mœurs, aujourd'hui les touristes viennent y prendre un café ou une bière, dans une ambiance plus sereine ! Le point de vue est excellent, au ras du bitume, bon choix de focale aussi.
