In 1656, the foundation of the château was completed. The architect, Le Vau, originally proposed to construct the Château in bricks and stone in the style of Louis XIII. Fouquet desired a material much more noble and rich. Finally in October of this year, the building was ready to be erected. Louis Le Vau was born in 1612 and was the son of the General Inspector of buildings for the king at Fontainebleau. He was named the king’s architect in 1656.
1657- by September of this year, the large part of the construction was achieved.
1658- the dome on the garden side of the chateau was erected.
1659- all the stair and lamps were made. And this year also the deconstruction of the old church of Vaux was completed.
1661- inauguration of the château. And on August 17th, the day of Fouquet's destiny arrives.

Picture is well done in terms of contrast and luminosity, the castle is well framed, also, color saturation is well-rendered .

Hello dear friend Nobu,
Another excellent composition with lots of information to digest. This is a nice diagonal shot with beautiful architecture and saturated colors. I like the color contrast between the blue sky with passing clouds and the castle. I see only 4 people suggesting a very quiet place. . I like that mysterious atmosphere. Nice job.
With warm regards,

A different view of the Chateau built by M. Fouquet. Rather than opening up the great edifice and its gardens, this image suggests a highly impenetrable and exclusive side. I cannot tell from the photo, but on the right, there appears to be a moat or lake. Does that moat run between the bannister and the large outer walls of the property?
Warmest regards, Nobu.

the point of view of the chateau and the driveway is interesting. The facade has a beautiful color against the sky well exposed. It's a nice way to watch this remarkable chateau. Good quality. Bravo.
Have a nice day

this is a wonderfully composed photo, it looks simple but has a great impact on our impression of the château. There's a fantastic perspective that makes the composition very interesting and offers great depth and dynamism. The château looks beautiful and very imposing against the agitated sky and with all these diagonals leading to it. The colours are delightful but they don't distract, they bring forth the grandeur of the château and its surrounding area, its pure essence.
All the best,

An attractive angle to view this beautiful castle. Attractive with the diagonal lines of the wall and the railing
of the moat. But also with the long lines of clouds.
Most of all I like the golden brown colour of the stone and of the soil in contrast with the colours in that
Best regards, Paul

the perspective you have created in this picture is fantastic, with the ornate wall producing a strong diagonal across the frame from the bottom of the picture. the cloud formations also contribute very well to this perspective. i love the quality and texture in your picture, it is wonderful. the rich colours are superb and very appealing. this is an excellent composition.

Mon cher caro Nobuccio-san
I am enjoying your lovely photo and note over lunchtime Nobuesque bowl of coffee in your honour :) This is an excellent quality scan from the negative and the subject matter is equally enchanting. I have done a WS to correct the perspective a little and to reduce some noise. I love the rich colours and also the vignetting effect in the corners, which add a sense of romance and timelessness to the image. Lovely shot, and excellent Note.
Warm regards mon ami
PS: It won't let me upload the WS. Do you want me to email it to you?

Majestically removed from us, the chateau has an enigmatic presence, and the cloud formations cooperate! Wonderful perspective - and like Bulent, I am thinking there must be a moat, a tiny glint of water is there. Too bad Fouquet could not erect a moat against the troubles to come...
Well done, Nobu! Have a wonderful evening.
danos (100846) 2012-02-22 3:46
nice the panoramic view of the castle with this well chosen POV to creates depth and perspective in the scene.I like the contrast of the colours with the yellow, especailly this of the ground, to be a bit oversaturate.
peppe59 (14555) 2012-02-22 4:26
interpretation with a fantastic POV appropriate, good quality, beautiful sky and the main subject.

Hello dear Nobu-san
Teh luminoscity & colour is good on this one. You've created a fine perspective with the path along the chateau, which also provides almost infinitisimal depth. The light is great & creates a fine contrast with the blue sky. I wonder about the yellow colour on the path (boredering the fence) & also on the parts of the chateau. A fine work!
Best Regards Nobu-san
