The sculptor Louis-Messidor-Lebon Petitot born in 1794 was a French artist, who passed away in Paris in 1862. Four stone statues of a symbolic group (Industry, Abundance, The City of Paris, The Seine) were created for The Pont du Carrousel in 1846. The Pont du Carrousel is a bridge in Paris, which spans the river Seine between the Quai des Tuileries and the Quai Voltaire. In 1930, its height above the river was judged insufficient for river transportation. A new bridge of reinforced concrete was constructed. It spans the river in three arches reaching the right bank in front of the Louvre, in direct line with the Arc de Triomphe du Carrousel.
After being outside in the subzero temperature all day long and with a pair of freezing hands trying to make a photo of this statue with a hand-held camera was simply too difficult. And it was also getting very dark outside and ¼ of second shutter speed, as I still remember, did not allow me to make a photo as sharp as I would have like it to be. There is a slight motion blur in the image, I admit. I hope that you don’t mind it too much. :*) I always liked the silent presence of this statue.

mi piace il taglio compositivo anche se si nota la mancanza del trepiede per rendere stabile l'immagine che specia sulla statua risulta mossa.
Con poca luce devi farne uso.

This area is new to me and so is the statue. I like the POV you have used with the red light in the distance - and it almost seems as if the foreground column is glass and lit from within. Is it a lamp? Or perhaps the lights below just make it look that way...
Too bad it was so cold...you are amazingly persistent!

Salut mon cher Nobuccio-san
No I don't mind at all, you have a pretty steady hand at 1/4 second, considering. Beautiful blue and golden tones aswell as excellent graphism in the shapes of the sobelisks supporting the statures. The Blue Hour is very lovely.
Thanks for sharing and I wish you a lovely evening
