This particular view for me is very personal one. When I was in Paris I often went out of my way just to have a glimpse of the view of the Seine from this particular POV. From here you can see a stone bridge, which connects 4th arrondissement and Óle St. Louis. I hope that you also enjoy this view that I loved very much.
Please take a look at WS for the corrected version.

Very Parisian, yet without any famous landmarks (not counting the Seine) - I like the soft colours and the leafy frame within the frame is just superb. The center of the picture seems to be a bit bright, also on the bridge there, which is a bit of a pity. Still this is an original piece of work and gets my applause here. Thumbs up!

The curve on the Seine gives a good depth to picture.
Light was good, so contrast well collected.
Nice and pleasent area in image.

I had logged on for just a few minutes when this beauty appeared. You have framed the scene symmetrically with an opening in the foliage. It's a gorgeous photo, as most of your photos are. It is hard to believe 2004 is now seven years in the past.

Hello Nobu ,
What a fine natural frame you've found here , to show us the Seine . Also , the picture is well composed , with the curve leading the eyes towards the bridge This one (as the clouds) is at the edge of the overexposure .

This is a splendid picture of Paris and you found a wonderful undiscovered POV.
The picture does not give the feeling of being in a bustling metropolis. Instead we get a quite relaxed feeling.
It's a very beautiful view of the river running in a nice curve towards the bridge, excellently framed by the shrubs and the branches of the trees.
Best regards, Paul

Nobu, what a magical photo. This is the part of Ile St. Louis that I first explored and I think that is Pont Marie...I met a Frenchman on quai d'Anjou and talked to him in my poor French and he said, "there is the Paris of the monuments and the Paris of the poets, and you have chosen the best, the Paris of the poets."
Ile St. Louis will always mean to me the Paris of the poets. A lovely view that takes me there in spring again!

There is something timeless and surreal about this photo. It took me a bit to understand why. The foliage is like a curtain that has been opened to reveal a picturesque view of life. We are the audience but if we wanted to, we could step through the foliage curtain and enter the world. There is definitely the feeling of two different worlds here with the foliage being the clear demarcation between them.. The view from the audience is timeless. The view from the other side is filled with motion and real life. I can see why this joli coin attracted you so.
Incidentally, I prefer this version to the workshop version. The colors in this version are warmer. The palette is lovely. The image, extremely balanced, even the clouds were cooperating with you. How do you do it?! :)

Salut cher Nobu
This looks like its straight out of a picture book. You those old engravings that you see in antique bookshops? Especially the way the greenery provides a natural frame, so that we really feel like we're peeking through the trees to the scene beyond. The WS is good which darkens the central area. A really idyllic scene, I can see why it was you favourite place to go. Thanks for sharing your secret spot with us.

Beautiful flowery frame. Nice timing and good POV.. the bridge in the far most side is nicely captured here.. But i think you taken it in afternoon thats why you got a harsh sun light (IMHO)..
But DOF is very good here.

beautiful snapshot with the river to creates a great depth and perspective in the image.I like the trees on the left, as decorated perfect the place and the foreground leafs of the trees to create an excellent frame through it we can see the whole area.

I like the way you have used the green foliage as a frame through which we are seeing this picturesque image. The river curving leads the viewer to the bridge. Beautiful line of trees along the river . Now I see why you like this particular spot. The image is given importance to every element. Thanks for posting this image and thoughts about it.
With warm regards,

what a wonderful composition and goregous natural frame. The view is stunningly beautiful. The winding river, bridge and impressive architecture with the greenery around. Wonderully executed with photographic ability. Perfectly well done. I love it.
