This is second photo of the sign of the metro station Blanche on line 2. This metro station sign is in Boulevard de Clichy in Paris. The sign was designed by Art Nouveau architect Hector Guimard (1867-1942). Like h many Art Nouveau artists and architect he was not at first particularly appreciated by his contemporaries. However, after some time it became fashionable among some art historians to praise his architectural and decorative work. Today I think most of us enjoy his work and are grateful that a number of his metro station signs and entrances are still there.

These Metro signs of Paris are indeed very attractive. Here you have chosen a good POV to enhance the sign and also to include a dark sky, some birds and a background poster (a film?). An intersting background building too with a rooftop garden.

I prefer this one to the previous one because it focus more on the sign and the composition is neater and more essential. I like Art Nouveau writings, they are so elegant and surely they give the taste of Paris so well. I like also the presence of the birds and that of the poster behind. Good light and interesting warm colours tonalities.
Really a pleasant and very characteristic image.
Have a nice day,

These signs are really familiar and I like the way you framed it here, with those pigeons on the left side. The dark sky give it a special atmosphere!

The sign is a classic view, but you have certainly added something to this picture with the black sky and the marvellous red street light with the raven black (in this light) pigeons. It would have been great if the the movie poster had been for Hitchcock's "The Birds", but we can't have everything we wish, can we? It's still a peculiarly spooky and attractive picture.

I have tried a couple of times to capture somehow this beautiful sign but I was not happy with my results. I like your photo. The close up allows to inspect the tiny details of the sign and it get a feeling of reality as it is so dirty. The surrounding is complex with the pigeons relaxing there, but most importantly with a great dark sky which introduces an interesting atmosphere here.
Very well done,
