Suscinio in winter, a photo from Bretagne, West

Photographer's Note

Le château de Suscinio est une des plus intéressantes forteresses bretonnes . C'est une résidence de chasse des Ducs de Bretagne édifiée au 13è siècle , mais profondément remaniée au 15è siècle . Rachetée par le département du Morbihan , elle a été sauvée de la ruine et progressivement réhabilitée .
Beaucoup de visiteurs le photographient de près , mais je préfère prendre un peu de recul . Par exemple , ici , de la petite route qui mène à la plage , où en hiver , le niveau de l'eau dans les marais permet d'obtenir un petit reflet . Les roseaux jaunis offrent aussi un décor très différent du printemps . J'avais d'ailleurs posté un cliché où tout était verdoyant .

Les couleurs de cette fin d'hiver semblent être conçues sur mesure pour mettre ce magnifique château en valeur. Le ciel fait sa part pour rendre la scène vraiment sublime.

C'est très bien cadré, la lumière est on ne peut plus belle et le petit bout de réflexion apporte une touche magique.

very impressive presentation of thic charming castle. You have found a great POV to make an excellent composition. I like the natural foreground, especially the water which provides the reflection. The reflection is partially covered which makes an asymmetric effect.
Amazing light introduces interesting atmosphere.

J'aime beaucoup cette composition avec ces arbres sans feuilles et le pièce d'eau au premier plan. Le château semble caché derrière cette végétation.

La netteté, la gestion de la lumière, les couleurs, le pdv choisi, la profondeur, le format vertical, l'encadrement noir & blanc, les contrastes, le pp en général et surtout la compo avec ce petit reflet-là qui est parfait sont excellents, chouettes!

I always admire the absolute clarity and sharpness of your pictures, whatever the subject, whatever the light. ( I know we see a careful selection but even so ! ) This is just one such - perfectly crisp and sharp, on a grey day, when one might see picture degradation elsewhere you come and trumps again. A la photo printanière que tu avais postée précédemment, bien que joliment réalisée, j'ai une nette préférence pour ce point de vue. Il est superbement mis en valeur ce château ici, la lumière est parfaite et les couleurs naturelles sont très agréables. Et comme d'habitude la netteté de l'image ne gâche rien à l'affaire, bien au contraire, surtout au niveau du reflet. Du beau boulot, bravo Denis et merci.

Magnifique recherche du meilleur point de vue, en effet, qui a été parfaitement trouvé. La nature hivernale, dépouillée, fait écho au ciel où circulent quelques nuages assez gris pour être menaçants. Entre les deux cette forteresse semble immuable. Les couleurs sont pleines de nuances et équilibrées, la lumière parfaitement dosée. Un bel endroit, vraiment.

Je n'aurais jamais pensé qu'il s'agissait d'une photo prise en Bretagne.
Tu signes là une photo très lumineuse avec des marais, ce qui était un sacré challenge. C'est très réussi.
On a un peu l'impression que le château et toi jouez à cache-cache dans cet environnement sauvage.
Très bonne idée ce POV qui nous éloigne du tourisme et qui magnifie ce château.

J'ai toujours adoré ce genre de châteaux, pour moi, plus beaux que les châteaux de la Loire!

Excellente lumière sur le château, mais aussi composition de grande classe avec ce reflet dans le petit étang et l'emplacement de la bâtisse dans l'espace.

Très bonne idée d'avoir utilisé un format carré, cela permet de mettre en évidence le château dans son environnement.

Si j'étais peintre, je poserai mon chevalet où tu as pris la photo, c'est un lieu fantastique et un peu irréel.

Tu as eu le coup d'œil avec ce marais en jouant sur le reflet.

Tout simplement magnifique, bravo.

the bonus is the water reflection.
love all the surounding brown grass, as its almost like a protector of the castle.
the lighting all along the bush areas is tremendous.

Bonjour Denis,

Une photo qui merite son succés. Au premier regard ca m a pas mal fait penser au travail de Carper quand il postait encore sur TE, avec cette belle lumiere et ce cadrage carré.
Un chateau que je ne connaissais pas et que j ai aussi pu decouvrir au travers des derniers posts de Chawax.

Well composed, excellent tone and tasteful scenery!
It's impressive and harmonized well for pond where reed grows thick and old castle behind. And, the shadow in building projected to pond draws out a good effect for the whole as well as thick cloud in the sky, I think.
