Photographer's Note
The Louvre glass pyramid has become one of the most favoured photo subjects and a landmark in Paris despite the controversy the construction of it triggered in the 1980s. Many people felt that the futuristic pyramid was misplaced in the courtyard of the Louvre Museum with its classical architecture. Nowadays people seem to love the contrast between the pyramid and the classical architecture.
The Louvre Museum in Paris is the largest museum in France and the most visited museum in the world. Louvre Museum was founded in 1793 and originally it housed the royal art collection. In 1980s the French president Mitterrand initiated a renovation of the Louvre museum. This project was named Grand Louvre. A large entrance hall was built in the form of a glass pyramid, designed by the architect I.M g Pei. The pyramid was placed in the middle of the Cour Napoleon. The pyramid is sourrounded by three smaller pyramids. The pyramid is one of the entrances to the museum.
This is my 4th picture of a series of pictures of the pyramid taken in the same evening from different perpectives and/or in different lighting. This one taken from a little bit different POV than my previous post and it was also a little bit darker.

God morgon Ulf,
This is maybe your best contribution in the "Louvre" series. The pyramid is very well illuminated here and the inclusion of a person gives a good reference to the size. Fine reflections in the water.
God fortsättning

Hello Ulf,
Splendid colours of the pyramid and the Louvre building under the wonderful blue sky.
I specially like the transition of the colours on the pyramid and on its reflection in the water.
Best regards, Paul

Hej Ulf,
I think it's the person standing by the pyramid that makes this photo special. That little silhouette gives proportions to the nicely lit glass construction, which is beautifully reflected.
Hälsningar och god fortsättning,

Bonjour Ulf,
des couleurs très fortes et chaudes dans cette photo où se mêlent des styles architeccturaux d'époques très distantes.
Bien cadrée et exposée.

One must really open these photos of yours to appreciate the splendor of these lights and reflections. The colours and the play of shapes and perspective is very intriguing and together with the excellent clarity make this photo very incisive and a pleasure to look at. Actually looking a second time at them all it is difficult to decide which is best!
Happy New Year,
Donato
