Photographer’s Note

First in a short series of pictures taken on the Bus de Mer or water taxi in La Rochelle.

The Bus de Mer runs between the Minimes yacht marina and the Vieux Port in La Rochelle. The crossing time is 15 to 20 minutes and at 1.30€ each way, I reckon it's a bargain. The boats run every day between April and September and on weekends and bank holidays only outside this period. Frequency varies according to the time of year, timings can be consulted on the La Rochelle Tourist Office web site.

Elle est superbe cette image emplie d'une magnifique armada de grands voiliers blancs. Temps magnifique le jour de ta prise de vue. On dirait presque un ciel méditerranéen ;o)

I really like the left side of the composition, perfect line taking into the BG, the note is marvellous as well, nice colours and creative frame.

These yachts look like they are pretty well all of the same design, possibly part of the charter fleet???
Lovely composition, particularly as you shot this from a moving boat.
Wonderful clarity, the shot has excellent definition, it glows and sparkles.

La lumière est excellente. L'image est nette et agréablement colorée, agrémentée des reflets. Les points de vue et cadrage bas, créent une image assez spectaculaire des ces voiliers un tantinet arrogants.

I like the way all the masts here resemble a diagram, with the maximum at the middle. A kind of triangular composition as well. Very good colours and reflections in the calm water!

Si on relie par une ligne les sommets des mâts entre eux on obtient la forme d'un bateau.
Composition très intéressante sous une belle luminosité ambiante.

Beautiful composition.
