Photographer’s Note

Niedermorschwihr is a small village on the edge of the Alsatian wine road. Beside having some nice houses its main attraction is the XIII th century gothic belltower featuring a twisted roof trunk, an architectural rarity that counts 15 occurences in the whole Europe.

Hello Jean-Yves,
The point of view is well chosen to capture this delightful little church and set it in the context of the surrounding vineyards. I like the contrast in light between the foreground and background and the sue of the curving track to draw us into the scene.

Hi J-Y.
A real postcard treat, and I don't mean that in any derogatory sense. It has been composed with your usual meticulous care and inspiration, using the curving piece of dirt track and the close-up foliage of the vines to create the impression we are actually coming around the bend. The shadow on the vines on the slope really makes the twisty-roof bell tower stand out as a highlight in the sunshine. Lovely autumn colours, especially the rich gold of the leaves. Nice work.

Encore une fois de plus, la même région, et vous me donnez en cadeau cette image merveilleuse!
L'avant plan qui est plein de soleil contraste parfaitement avec l'arrière plan ombreux! Les trois parties de cette photo sont également belles et intéressantes et l'ensemble est magnifique: une composition digne d'éloges!
La netteté, la gestion de la lumière, la profondeur e le couleurs sont excellentes aussi!

This is a great shot of this unique church surrounded by these great autumn colors. The road leads the eye into the shot nicely attracting our interest past the church. The lighting and colors are great and the photo has excellent sharpness.

Belle compo! La lumière n'était peut-être pas la meilleure possible (les vignes sur les collines ne semblent pas éclairées)mais la période pour prendre l'image si! ces vignes d'or sont très belles et forment un superbe écrin à cette église.

very nice the existence of this little village in the middle of the vineyards.Really the bell tower is dominates the village, as in the whole area i think.I like the way that the cultivated fields spread on the sides and reach the top of the hills.Well done.

Good Morning JY,

An even more wonderful shot from this beautiful region of Eastern France. Who wouldn't want to visit after seeing this!

You have a good lead into the shot, edged with gold and mysterious by its disappearance. I love how the curve of the hills and the lines of the vines seem to point towards the sharply focussed, focal church; it is so nicely placed in the frame.
A real cracker of a shot and one which will have to go into my favourites.

A marvellous Autumn scene of the vineyards in Switzerland. Fantastic warm cold colour contrasts between the yelow & blue. The dirt road at right adds good lead in lines & the twisted spire of the belltower, makes an intriguing focal point. Merci et tous mes compliments!

Il faut être assuré pour ramasser le raisin sur ces coteaux en arrière plan, c'est sacrément pentu !!! En tous les cas ce paysage donne un joli graphisme à l'image et donne beaucoup de relief pour mettre en valeur ce petit village et son église. Le contraste ombre/lumière est intéressant. Agréable coup d'oeil, merci Jean-Yves.

quellle image, grandise, ce vignes qui font comme un paravant pour protéger le village,c es couelurs, l'aro sur le feuille, superbe image, avec le chemin le vigne en or aus ommer, une merveille, et il n'y a pas de panda, elle m'a fait rager ette voiture.

Tiens, un coin encore jamais visité de la région où j'habite...
Cette photo bénéficie d'une bonne composition, avec la portion de chemin, et surtout ces collines qui forment comme un écrin à cette belle chapelle. Il est juste un peu dommage qu'il n'y ait pas eu un peu plus de lumière sur ces collines justement. En même temps, ça permet d'avoir un bon contraste avec l'église qui, elle, est au soleil.
