Photographer’s Note
This is my third posting from the port of Doëlan in the south of Brittany. Taken from the east bank of the estuary, it shows the red and white striped further inland of the two lighthouses that aid navigation here.
This is a shot taken as RAW: converted to JPEG with Raw Therapee [free software]. Final PP in PhotoShop 7 and FastStone.
Exposure: 1/90s: F7.1: ISO 200: 28mm focal length.
As with my earlier postings, I will put for comparison, a JPEG shot from my little Canon camera, taken from almost the same point of view, but in landscape orientation.

Hi Peter,
A very pleasant scenery and a fine picture! The comparison between your cameras are also very interesting here too. As before, I think the sky looks better (bluer) in the original phto, but other colours (the rocks along the water) looks warmer in the WS.
Do you agree?
Kind regards
Gunnar

Hello, Peter.
Now, this isn't a quiz is it? If it were, I would certainly have to say that I prefer this picture to the workshop one, even though the latter was taken with your Canon. Of course, unlike the previous pairs of pictures which you have posted, these two pictures are taken from rather different viewpoints.
The viewpoint here is lower and so there is more perspective. I almost feel that the ropes tethering those two nearest boats are tied to my big toe. A great lead into the picture from these ropes, the nearest boats and the water's edge. In fact, the near water's edge would have been pretty dull and uninteresting had it not been for that wonderful triangular splash of sunlight which holds the eye.
Lovely sharp details and a wonderful sky.
Excellent!
Best Wishes,
John.
