Photographer’s Note

These vine covered houses are located on top of the city wall that surrounds Beaune.
Beaune is a commune in eastern France, a sub-prefecture of the Côte-d'Or department in the Bourgogne region. The area around Beaune, the Côte de Beaune, is known for its Burgundy wines, with Beaune (although lacking a Grand Cru vineyard within the commune) as the hub of the local wine business. Beaune is renown for its annual charity wine auction on behalf of the Hospices de Beaune.
It is situated on the route des Grands Crus tourist route among the vineyards. The road runs north from Beaune to Gevrey Chambertin and Nuits-Saint-Georges and south to Nolay, Saisy and Autun.
This is my first post from my new MacBook computer, it has taken a few days to get back up after loosing the hard drive in my old laptop.

Hi Asa,

The diagonal line of the street is an asset to the composition. The point of view is allowing us to see the details and colors of the house covered with vine. The light has a good effect on the colors. Have a nice day.

A nice composition of these interesting ivy clad buildings, which make a fine contrast with the lovely sky. Very nice light with good colours and sharpness. Just a pity about the cars and the overhead wire.

de très belles couleurs sur ces façades, elles valaient le détour et la photo. DOmmage pour ces voitures un peu trop envahissantes. Le ciel est un rien surexposé.
Un bel endroit bien cadré.

The ivy covered buildings are wonderful, and the green combines very well with the rustic red of the paintwork. I hope you managed to retrieve the files from your hard drive.

Hello Asa,
the old houses sticked on the city wall represent an interesting architecture. The whole atmosphere is lovely - OK, what else in a wine region? It must have been a difficult task to take a good photo in strong direct sunlight but the result is really good with pleasant colours.

Hi Asa,
These lovely ivy covered cottages look like they came out of a travel brochure.
The lush green ivy contrast brilliantly with the blue sky as the sharp lines are seen in striking detail.
