Photographer’s Note

Strong Boyard (phonetic pronunciation: / bojar/) is a fortification located between the island of Aix and the island of Oléron, attached to the commune of Island of Aix in the department of the Charente-Maritime. It was built initially to protect the roads from XVII century the English marine, but was never useful because time to build it the ranges of the guns had increased well and could pass over. Strong Boyard forms integral part of the Maritime Arsenal of Rochefort which extends throughout the estuary from Charente. It is today a property of the general council of the Charente-Maritime the strong fact the object of a classification to the title of the historic buildings since 1950 the strong one is 68 meters long on 31 meters broad, for a total surface of 2689m². The enclosing walls culminate with 0meters. It is built on a named sand bank "skirts of Boyard" which gave its name at the height. It is visible since Fouras, since the bridge which connects the island of Oléron to the continent (southern of the island), since the headlight of Chassiron by good weather (extreme north of the island) and also from the city of the Small rock. Certain summers, within the framework of the "Sites in Scenes", a fireworks is drawn there, that one can see since all the beaches of the neighbourhoods. The white sailed yacht at right, makes a good visual counterbalance, to the fortification island, at left. Marvellous colour, & good sharpness & contrasted light. Smart choice of a wide angled, panoramic viewpoint. Merci pour ce partage et amicalement!

the fortification is already a great and interesting subject for a great composition, but you completed the scene with the splendid colours of the sea and the deep blue of the sky. Moreover I find a great idea the presence of the white sail!

Excellent shot with the white-sailed yacht entering the frame and balancing the fortification perfectly. The colours are wonderful and your stitchwork is immaculate!

Belle présentation de ce célèbre monument marin, j'aime beaucoup la présence du voilier à droite, par contre je trouve que cela manque un peu de netteté, tu aurais peut-être dû accentuer.

Je pensais voir le père Fouras à la fenêtre ... Joli stitch en tout cas pour un très beau panoramique. Les couleurs et la lumière sont très belles. Juste dommage que le voilier à droite bute sur le bord de la photo et qu'il ne soit pas dans l'autre sens. Mais je comprends tout à fait que c'est difficile de le mettre dans le sens inverse lol

Bonjour Gilou,
Le fort est on ne peut plus austère, malgré le beau ciel bleu et le vert de l'eau qui l'entoure.
Le feu d'artifice qui est tiré de là-bas doit lui donner un caractère tout à fait particulier.
J'aime bien l'inclusion du boilier blanc sur la droite, qui vient ajouter une touche élcatante.

Un endroit qui est devenu célèbre grâce au jeu qui porte le même nom. Je le préfère pourtant sans cet échafaudage métallique perdu dans l'océan.

c'est bien évidemment un endroit célèbre qu'on n'aura aucune peine à reconnaitre. Cette photo aux lumières douces et aux couleurs fortes, lui fait honneur.
C'est bien cdré et ce format panoramique lui convient à merveilles.

Good capture of this famous place out in the sea Guilbert. Not much to do with the modern construction there - but that how it is. I like the detail with the sailer included there.

I see there is a meeting in Gruissan in September. As you know I was in Collioure for the whole of August and have just returned home, so no chance for me to be back in September.

Ce format panorama convient bien au sujet. Le fort se présente un peu comme un énorme navire. Le voilier blanc apporte sa touche et l'échelle.

Très jolie vue, le voilier est idéalement placé, les teintes de l'eau et du ciel sont magnifiques et ton format panorama très bien choisi.
Cette plate-forme, dont je n'avais pas souvenir, est liée à des travaux je suppose, un moment j'ai cru qu'ils faisaient des forages pétroliers!!!
