Photographer’s Note

This village on the hill surprises when one arrives in front of him, of old houses with the wrought iron balconies with the dull colors and these coloured bell-towers the whole in a valley or runs the river Roya, this city goes back to 690, in XIe century under its current term, Tende concerned the county of Vintimille. In 1261, Pierre-Guillaume count of Vintimille, of Hauteville-Crystallize to House of Hauteville and house of Crystallized, lord of Tends, wife Eudoxie Lascaris sister of the young Greek emperor of the East, Jean IV Lascaris, and took the name of Vintimille-Lascaris. In 1581, the county of Tends was acquired by the House of Savoy. In 1860, the commune of Tende, was not included/understood in the territories conceded in France in the treaty of Turin. It is with the peace treaty of Paris of February 10 1947 that these territories pass under French sovereignty. The commune of Tends is vastest of the department. Since 1967, professor Henry de Lumley and his teams take readings and mouldings of the rocks engraved since prehistory on the natural sites of the Valley of the Wonders and the valley of Fontanalbe (mouldings exposed to the departmental Museum of the Wonders) I posted you the green lake, I will not show you the photographs of these engraved rocks bus with the format TE you would not see large-thing, already is necessary to know the bus places without the guides we would have passed in front of without seeing them
