Photographer’s Note

Ile de Bréhat, small sublime flowery island... invaded by tourists, but its charm remained outside the main roads! Actually, I am here on one of the "spotlights" of the island, the mill of Birlot, at least on its dam ! Behind me : the sea (well here at low tide, the beach), in front of me : the reservoir of water .
As the tide comes in, it enters the mill pond through a one way gate, and this gate closes automatically when the tide begins to fall. When the tide is low enough, the stored water can be released to turn a water wheel.
