The Saint-Théodorit cathedral is built since 1090 on the site of a Roman temple, a first building of Romance style carried the print of the influence about Cluny. Demolished partially during the Albigensian Crusade (1177), then on May 13, 1563 (at the same time as the palate episcopal), at the beginning of the wars of religion, the cathedral of the Middle Ages undergoes a total destruction in 1621. Only, the bell-tower, the tower Small window, remained upright, but cut down by two stages. Rebuilt of 1642 to 1663, it was transformed internally (reduction of the chorus) the shortly after the legal settlement of 1801, when, évêché of Uzès being removed, it was necessary to adapt the place to its new function of parish church.
