[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
A major part of the Place du Concert, near the old centre of Lille (Veille Lille) is formed by a long row of cafes and brasseries The middle-top part of the façade of the Corsican ‘L’ile de Beauté restaurant / traiteur is displayed here. In a warm and traditional ambiance all the Corsican culinary niceties were to be had. Really delightful, apart from Corsican wines, the ravioli with brocciu, the strong goat cheese, the dry charcuterie and other delicacies form a rare occurrence in this part of Europe.

I was attracted to this scene by the reference to Corsica and the lively and a bit weathered façade with its strong and eclectic use of outdoor type.
This pic is an addition to the ‘Outdoor type’ theme and a North-western greeting to our Corsican friends Georges, Martine, Dominique and Fabrice.

PS-E2 tech: skewed, heavily cropped, saturation (master, reds, yellows) boosted/altered, USM-ed, frame added and saved for the web.

It's a nice add for your theme, Bert, and I'm positive that our fellow Corsican photographers will enjoy seeing it. So do I - it's another well-conceived composition of vertical and diagonal leading lines with a good choice of architectural details to be included in the frame. Colors and techs are good as usual; at the very left it looks a bit soft but I'm not sure whether it's something with the laptop computer screen from which I'm looking at this. Good shot.

Lovely colourful shot, Bert! I enjoy the variety of details shown from a very artistic angle. The diagonal lines bring fine dynamics. Very well done!

Hi Bert, very attractive display of this colourful facade. Very nice composition and filled with 'outdoor type' all over. Did you know back then that you were going to create a theme?
I like your Lille pictures actually very much, especially because they give me a peek of a city of which I always thought it was an awful industrial city in the North of France. I like that, and it's what TE is for.

Another fine addition to your theme. I like your eye for details like this. This captures the faces and "outdoor types" very nicely. The lines are avery good on this diagonal. And the blue really stands out very nicely. It is saturated just right giving it an electric appearance. The yellow and the orange sign also have that electric look. It's also a nice contrast, as you say, to the worn bricks and worn wrought iron of the facades. Great eye, Bert.

Hallo Bert, u weet uw plaatsje wel uit tekiezen, een klein beetje Bourgondiër mag wel eventjes bij zijn, het reklame bord staat perfect recht, en de diagonale lijnen maken van uw foto een goed perspectief, en het opschrift, ja wat wil een mens nog meer. Dank u Bert, voor het bezoeken van mijn foto!

Voila une affiche qui me fait plaisir que de savoir nos plats traditionnels a l'autre bout de la france .
Merci de poster cette image cela montre un peut un autre visage des Corses vu par un objectif d'amateur et non pas de tout ces medias qui nous casses du sucres (Gratuitement) sur le dos.
