Photographer’s Note

This picture was taken at the same chambre d'hote in Aubignan as my other shot. The elderly gentleman who owned this mas grew his own grapes, tomatoes, dates, peppers, melons, and pretty much anything else he could think of in his back garden.

These are not wine-grapes, however. Therefore they were sweet, and we would wake up every morning, step out into his back garden, and pick off bunches of grapes such as these for breakfast.

The owner himself made jam out of these grapes every week.
