Photographer’s Note

Built for the World Fair of 1900, the bridge Alexandre III, enriched by multiple decorations to the varied forms, was the object also vast program sculptor partly devoted to Franco-Russian alliance. The center of the large arch, the group of the Nymphs of the Seine with the weapons of the Town of Paris answers symbolically that of the Nymphs of Neva with the weapons of Russia, laid out on other side, in front of the downstream (work of the artist which you discover here). These compositions, out of hammered copper, are by G. Récipon, sculptor of the quadrigae of the Large palace. I presented to you there is some time another nymph of Néva.
