Photographer’s Note

The off season activities in the small village Collioure situated by the shores of the Mediterranean in the deep South of France includes also training in classic Catalan large row boats - maybe at one time used in the traditional anchois fishing that for a long time was a main business down here.

Not the best time of the day to make a photo of the activity. With a shutter speed of 1/6 sec. at a place where everything is moving results in a blurred result - but also I think a sense of the activity taking place here ;-)

A superb sunset, with attractive warm colours & good graphism & silhouettes. The boat is well caught & colour contrasts betweent he gold & blue are excellent. Tfs!

L'image est belle malgré le tremblement lié au mouvement. Les taches d'or sur cette mer ondulante donnent une ambiance excellente.
Le cadrage est parfaitement pensé.

un moment bien choisi pour prendre cette photo, la couleur dorée du soleil sur l'eau est magnifique j'aurai peut être mis la barque en plein milieu de ce rayon

Hi Jack,

A strange, 'uneasy' picture with those lights, off-beat dof and exposure...but it all comes together and works to produce this...strange, 'uneasy', great picture.

belle photo de ce bateau qui vien droit sur vous.
Il semble sortir de ce feu d' or qui se reflète sur l' eau, beau coup d' oeil, bien vu, bien profité de ce moment rare qui donne une photo hors du commun.

I like the colors, the golden hues contrasting with the blue, and the movement that gives a feeling of emergency (evacuation from the Titanic or something like that). I find the composition good also. Well done!

c'est très audacieux comme photo et personnellement, j'aime ce qui sort de l'ordinaire et qui est osé. Avec ses allures de peinture à l'huile, la manque de netteté joue un peu en la faveur de la photo.

Hello Jack,
nice the snapshot of this boat between the golden reflections on the surface of the sea.The low lighting conditions and the moving boat make the scene difficult to record with sharpness.
