A view of the Mairie or Town Hall in the village of Saint-Germain-de-Confolens. I thought it was rather a magnificent building for such a small place. I have no idea as to its ancestry. The image is a vertical stitch of two images due to space constraints.
Saint-Germain-de-Confolens is a French commune in the Charente département located at the confluence of the Vienne and Issoire rivers, which meet just outside the village of the same name. With a population of around 100, its inhabitants are known as Saint-Germanotis.
The French Wikipedea site has an article about the geography and history of the area here. The above information was extracted and freely translated from that article.

Older cities seem very clean and well kept in France. I really enjoy this type of buildings because of their simplicity of details. Good light and perspective of this quiet street. Thanks for sharing :-)

La façade visiblement ancienne est de toute beauté. La lumière est typique de la lumière du poitou-Charentes. Le cadrage est réussi avec la diagonale. Un assemblage impeccable, et une image très agréable. Bravo.

The French flag is definitely an asset here, showing just the necessary piece of red and thus being the eye-catcher here. This looks like a very calm and quiet and typical French town!

Hi Stephen, there's something about a square framing that just works for me. Perhaps it's also that the building is of a similar shape. everything is really well-exposed. I like how the building takes up most of the frame, and the tricolor is a bonus. Excellent work, have a good weekend, Lisa.

You got here the first pillar of a french village, now you need to find an angle where you can include the school and the monument to the fallen ones, so you'll have the fundaments of the republic ! Goodl light on this one and there seeems to be a nice tower rising over it
Have a nice day jY
