The Île de Ré bridge, Rivedoux-Plage

On Ré island, in the Rivedoux-Plage municipality, at the forefront of Sablanceaux, the Île de Ré bridge built from 1987 to 1988. 2926.5 meters length, to a place called "La repentie" in la pallice which is the port of la Rochelle. This is one of the remarkable bridges of France.

RIVEDOUX-PLAGE is a french commune, located in the department of the Charente-Maritime of the Poitou-Charentes area, populated with 2366 Rivedousais in 2009, distributed out of 4.5 km², that is to say 523.5 hab./km².

J'aime beaucoup la loooongue perspective de ce pont qui semble sans fin, effet encore renforcé par la présence du minuscule pêcheur
Je trouve le ciel un peu palot et peut être que l'avant plan de plage pourrait être réduit d'un petit rien du tout
Mais c'est juste perso et c'est en tout cas une belle image

les dimensions de ce pont sont absolument impressionnantes.
Tu as choisi un bon point de vue et un efficace cadrage pour nous offrir une image très dynamique au moyen d'une profonde perspective diagonale de cette belle structure, qui divise le cadre avec un beau contraste avec le ciel.
La présence du pêcheur ajoute une bonne référence à la composition.
Un travail excellent.

Hello Joel,

You're capturing well this place by a good angle and excellent tone/clarity, so it's interesting and impressive to see a beautiful bridge through which it flows. You catch well the perspective of this bridge. The whole is ufified by a gentle color combination. And, the shadow projected to the sea draws out a good effect in this image.

Bonsoir Joël,

Le pêcheur solitaire aurait dû prévoir une chaise pliante pour s'asseoir, il va se fatiguer en restant debout aussi longtemps ;0) Le tablier et les piles du pont forment une belle perspective, sa construction fut une prouesse !

Bonsoir Joël,

Ce pont me fait penser au pont qui est situé entre le Nouveau-Brunswick et l'Ile du Prince-Édouard. La longueur du pont donne de la profondeur à la composition. La prise de vue permet de voir les détails et les couleurs de l'architecture du pont. La lumière a un bel effet sur les couleurs de l'image. Bonne soirée.

this bridge seems endless. Very nice presentation with great depth. Good idea to include this lone fisherman, it gives a scale. The figure is so tiny compared to the bridge. Must be fun to go over this bridge, above the sea.

Ce pont est quand même très impressionnant, par sa longueur mais aussi par la finesse de son architecture qui donne un sentiment de fragilité à l'édifice que rendent très bien tes photos.

Bonjour Joël,

La composition est parfaite, la courbe du pont guidant le regard vers le continent. Par ailleurs, le pêcheur apporte un point d'accroche et donne une idée de la hauteur du pont.
Petite remarque : es-tu certain des coordonnées géographiques ? Car en cliquant sur le lien "Map: view", on a l'impression que l'on ne se trouve pas du bon côté du pont. Si on se base sur cette carte, le pont devrait être courbé dans l'autre sens. J'ai plutôt l'impression que la photo a été prise vers Sablenceaux, au bout de la pointe.

Hello Joël,
The man stood at the edge of the beach is a definite asset, giving the image a great sense of scale. Excellent control over depth of field to produce a pin sharp image with superb depth. I like very much the repeating motifs of the massive concrete columns, whilst the lovely sky contributes much to the atmosphere of the shot. Bravo!

In all your three pictures here, this bridge is very well captured and makes an interesting motive. The perspective in this major upload is particularly attractive. at first glance I thought this was that famous bridge we see in Lisbon Portugal, looks very similar.
this is one of those photos where the subject trails off into the distance and gets smaller and smaller...excellent perspective lines.
and having the person there too gives it a good size scale.
I'd love to see this bridge in the blue hour too!!

The great point of view creates a lots of
depth and make the brigde extra high/bigger
and that makes the picture extra exciting.
Composition and light management are also
great. Nice extra is the fisherman: that
shows nice proportions in the picture and
emphasize extra how big the bridge is...
