Washing the bus, a photo from Poitou-Charentes, West

Photographer's Note

Guerrilla street artist holds up the traffic, Rue Lebascles, Poitiers, Vienne.

I took a group of Media students to Futuroscope, and we stayed in the centre of Poitiers, as on a previous visit we had stayed in one of the hotels on-site, and had been bored to death in the evenings. (The "town" that has grown up around Futuroscope is completely soulless.)

Poitiers, on the other hand, was vibrant and beautiful, with a large student population. I guess that the hero of this situation was a student, though thankfully, not one of ours!

Great moment captured here. This made me laugh and then I got depressed because this is what happens when you pull up at th elights in Birmingham whether you like it or not! Does my head in! If I need my windows cleaning I use my screenwash and wipers - they are free!

At the first glance it seems that the lady is try to catch the bus on the move; Only a hard looks show that she is cleaning the windscreen.Truly an interesting shot.TFS.

Certainly not something you see every day here, Will! I can't imagine the passengers and other motorists were too pleased, but you got a wonderful and happy shot out of it! Good opportunity made perfect use of here. Thanks!

Hi Will. I look at the photo with a lot of pleasure. Everyday life does not have to be boring when you have funny ideas. In this sense, I applaud the resourceful students. Nice that you have photographed this amazing scene.

I love this. A wonderful bit of street photography caught at a fabulous momemnt. I have never seen this sort of screen washing activity before - very enterprising! The red bus and the colourful clothes and cleaning gear stand out so well aganist the grey BG.
A picture that has made me smile this Saturday morning.

is that for real! my god, crazy people I tell ya!
funny thing...i like how the broom is extended out on the far right, i know its just a simple element, but its effective.
the other funny subject are the clothes this person is wearing, do they know its not 1975!
