Photographer’s Note
Reflections in one of the four doors of Les Halles in Niort, Deux-Sèvres.
The existing market is the third covered market in Niort. The medieval market halls in Niort were considered to be the largest in the kingdom.
The current building was constructed in 1869 by Durand in the Baltard style and comprises a mix of wrought iron, steel and glass. It consists of a tall central nave and two lower side aisles that open on to the Place du Donjon and Rue Brisson, Considered a fine example of early modern architecture the whole of the market site is listed in the supplemental inventory of historic monuments.

Nice capture of the reflections. What is interesting is the same reflections are seen twice in different parts of the window. Well seen

Hello Stephen,
who had that great idea to build that large windowed area there. Well seen with that puttled reflection. I had first no idea what that is. The repetition of the roof in the middle part is great.

Bonjour Stephen
Excellent use of the highly reflective glass to capture the superb reflection. Good sharpness, colour & lighting contrasts. The tight framing works well here. Well done!

Hello Snunney,
It is a reflection already seen but ever put in photograph. It is beautiful. When I was a child, I accompanied my grand mother to sell snails under the left wing of the markets. Beautiful realisation.Felicitations.
Good Day
