Photographer’s Note
Ah ! At last I've been able to go out with my camera for some pictures. I missed that so much ! :)
This shot shows a symbol of my city, Niort. The dragon is part of a old legend :
A looooong time ago, a dragon haunted the swamp around the city ; it kidnapped and eat young women. Many brave men tried to kill the beast but failed. When everybody lost hope, a prisoner told he could defeat the dragon. The mayor promised him freedom if he managed ; and after a long fight the prisoner indeed killed the dragon, but he died too.
Now the dragon is one of the main sybols of our city, and ten years ago it had been chosen to decorate a street in downtown : four dragon statues ornates and replaced the sidewalks. People likethis idea so much, they've forgotten the original name of this street and now call it the dragons street.
The Gimp : converted to b&w to hide very disturbing colors in the background, played with curves, and added frame.

Very amusing framing, I like the view of one dragon eating the other.
A little sharpening would improve this but otherwise is works well.
This is a good note; I live in Asia where dragons are good luck and viewed positively, so it is nice to be reminded of the "other" dragons in the world;-)
