The parish church of Saint-Cybard in the village of Montchaude.
The original church, which dated from the 12th century now lies in ruins with only the porch remaining. It is located some 100 metres south of this one in the grounds of the château. This new church was built in 1895-6. It was designed in the form of a Latin Cross by the architect Raymond Barbaud under the guidance of Edouard Warin. Funds for its construction were contributed by the Arnoux family.
The picture is a stitch of two images.
Montchaude is a village, population about 500, in the département of Charente close to the small town of Barbezieux. Its economy is dependent on farming and viticulture.

Here you have had a great - and a bit difficult - light and you managed it skillfully. I like very much how you "silhouetted" this steeple in front of the wonderful sky. The monument right hand gives another point of interest here. But, the main thing here is this wonderful light ...
Greetings from grey and hazy Germany!

A rather odd structure, Stephen, in a French Gothic revival style, similar to the sort of church being build all over Western Europe at that time, bu with a real french feel. You have presented it is a fine clear image. I would like to know more about the stitching, which i find very interesting . regards Kevin

The light looks quite strong but you have coped well and captured the details with out any oe.

Good idea to stitch two images so you could show the church in full: it's worked out well. Your POV also works well to show two facades. The lovely blue sky is a novelty for me in the UK at the moment.

Lovely vertical view of this peaceful church yard.
The wonderful blue sky with its wispy clouds makes a beautiful backdrop for all the fine lines and sharp details of the lovely church to stand out against.

This is a nicely composed shot of the church taken from a great angle. The angle of the shot gives the scene nice depth and direction. The lighting and colors are great with excellent sharpness and detail. The low perspective is nice here making the steeple tower above the scene.

This is beautiful shot! A fantastic sky, and great detail on the spire of the church. Well done++

Les arbres aident au cadrage de l'église. La prise de vue permet de voir une double perspective de l'architecture de l'église Saint-Cybard. La qualité de la lumière embellit les couleurs de l'image. Bonne journée.
