Photographer’s Note

This is a picture of La Rochelle harbour (not the old harbour but the one for the big boats).
The boat France I on the foreground is now part of the maritime museum. At the background, you can see a blue sailing boat, which was back from the last Vendee Globe sailing race across the globe.
And the Gabut area is famous for its colourful wooden houses.

Ça sent le patriotisme par ici... :-P)

Joli point de vue combinant cette impressionnante coque de bateau,- avec de la typo que j'aime toujours - et ce village qui se détache avec éclat, grâce à un soleil généreux. Le ciel est superbe, avec de gros nuages comme on les aime.

Bonjour Estelle ,
Très jolie photo agréablement composée . Le second plan est très coloré et offre un beau contraste à la coque du bateau située dans l'ombre . Lumière très bien gérée .
Sais tu si ce bateau (le France I) est un ancien navire météo dont l'équipage , fourni par la compagnie Delmas-Vieljeux , effectuait des séjours prolongés dans l'Atlantique Nord . (Cette image me fait plaisir , mon père ayant navigué sur ce bateau) .

hello Estelle,
interesting approach to use the ship as a foreground for the cute and colourful town, I quite like it, especially the "FRANCE I" for all thsose who have questions about location :) the corner of the pier in the lower left part is a nice accent, as are the reflections of the masts. this is very well seen and presented, my compliments.
