The tower of the "Grosse Horloge", built with 14th and 18th century
Other image
The "Grosse Horloge" gate in the beginning a gate of the strengthened city of "La Rochelle", opened in the primitive enclosure. In XIIIe century its name was the gate of Parrot or Perrot, because it gave access to the suburb of this name. The gate was bored of two bays. Broadest, for the carriages, smallest, for the pedestrians.
Today, it shelters the Archaeological Museum and remains one of the principal points of passage between the quays and the old city.

Hola Joel,

wonderful view at this architecture, the POV looking through the gate well done as it includes also the nice top and the clock. The name reminds me to Dutch/German and nautic. Well balanced light for the darker and brighter parts.

Joel, this is an impressive gate, looks like a huge cuckoo clock almost. The grays of the stone are cold and foreboding but the overall feeling is not, very interesting. Nice capture,
