Photographer’s Note
Even the stone of old cognac recounts the relationship of the ancient city and its legendary beverage: "cognac"
From the seventeenth century, the wines of poitou be turned into brandy, which will be enhanced in oak barrels to become Cognac. Thus begins the adventure of a city that will become the capital of a world-renowned trade.
The walls of the old neighborhood at the edge of the charente show a barrel, a flask, the famous "armed wing" of a famous brand but also more curiously the existence of a fair garlic! More recently the International detective Film Festival contributes to the reputation of a city whose first name was condate "shack on a confluence"
