I still have some more castles, but I am afraid that they can be already boring. So maybe the last one for a moment.
Some castles are beautifully set on the high hill above the Loire valley and one have great view from there. it is the case with Saumur. The view of the castle dominating the valley I will post as Workshop.
The Château of Saumur is located in the Pays de la Loire region, on the historic Kings’ Valley Route. Since its construction at the end of the 11th century, the Château of Saumur has been a fortress, a manor house, a residence for the town governors, a prison, and even an arms and ammunitions depot. The château, overlooking the town and the majestic Loire, was bought from the state in 1906 by the town of Saumur which, after having restored part of it, used it to set up the town’s museum. With its high octagonal towers, mullion windows, gables, and fleur-de-lys-embellished battlements, the Château of Saumur irresistibly brings a fairy-tale castle to mind. Its elegant silhouette reflects in the Loire below, the river it has dominated for the last ten centuries.

another beauty once again.
on a personal note, i'm not at all bored with your castle photos, not at all. I just picked this one because I happened to see it on the 'new posted' page on TE.
i LOVE that arched bridge, it looks fantastic.
excellent contrasting, lovely light and colors.
its a 10 out of 10 for me!

Never tiered to see more castles and chateaus on photos, Malgo.
Yet, I enjoy seeing places did not know about - and went to look for this on Google maps and Wikipedia: Learn that Saumur was the birth-place of the known fashion designer Coco Chanel, and was a major battle-place in WW2.
Fabulous shot, picture is clear and with great depth. The tower and bridge are prominent on the photo.

I stayed in a gite close to Saumur four or five years ago, a very pleasant town with lots of bars and restaurants. Your photograph brings back happy memories. The point of view is excellent encompassing the main area of the town and setting it in context by the river. The image benefits from a very attractive light and has good colours and clarity. The large version is particularly spectacular.

Checking out the beta version I really see what a difference the larger size makes. This is a fine photo in any case, but the many details of the church, the roofs and the bridge are so much better viewed at the maximum size. In spite of the clouds the light is really good and the contrasts are great.
Only a few more days now before you go to Istanbul. Have you planned everything, including every photo you want to take?

Difficulties getting online - so cutting and pasting this - BUT just want to say - "I like this shot!" Before I lose my connection yet again.

Hello Malgo - A sweeping panoramic view of the Loire. I love this composition with the church spire rising above the horizon to the clouds and then the lovely arched bridge fording the river. Beautiful details and lovely bright splashes of orange and green brightening up the rather overcast day. Nicely done Malgo! warm regards Rosemary

Not only am I attracted to your 'roof top' view of Saumur, but also the impressive Romanesque arched stone bridge crossing the Loire, enhanced by the dramatic cloud background.
I enjoy historical architecture and never get bored whether castles, churches, villages, bridges, etc....
They are history which goes back before the time of The Colonies. Plus I have a history degree which many consider very boring.

Ciao e buona serata

Good evening, Malgo,
This is my last comment from the US. I would like to express my admiration... Another excellent postcard from France. Perfect sharpness, very nice colors. I always like the panoramic compositions, well seen.
Now I have got the two different Bulent's books about Mona Lisa too.
Greetings from NYC!

What a beautiful panoramic of this population ideal perspective slate roofs, with two towers rising from the same, sensational bridge spanning the Loire.
A superb light management, sharpness is also perfect to enjoy the picture.
Very pretty color, which gives a lot of life to the image.
Very well done.
Have a good day.
