Photographer’s Note
After having been, with the Middle Ages, a military strategic point and a granting on the river, with the Renaissance, one of the first residences of pleasure built at the edge of the Loire - in 1455 -, and at the 19th century, a whole of residences and warehouses, the castle of Montsoreau is today classified historic building. Its situation is exceptional: sentinel with the junction between the Loire and Vienne, it is with the crossroads of Anjou, Poitou and Touraine. Contrary to the other castles ligériens, Montsoreau is built on the river, which bathed, at the time, its ditches. Owner of the castle since 1913, the General Council of Maine and the Loire undertook to renovate it in 1994. The first work made it possible to find, hidden in the ground, some vestiges of the castle of the 11th century, the latrines of the 15è century and the ditches, formerly filled by the Loire. The village of Montsoreau is very pretty, its escarpés lanes and staircases are an invitation with discovered and make it possible to reach points of seen on the Loire splendid.

Bonjour, Thierry!
Interesting composition with the driveway leading to the main subject which is partly behind a less important part of the picture. TFS!

really nice shot.
even from a thumbnail, it shows us the power of the castle, somehow it looks gracious and mighty.
colors are nice too, providing good contrast between skies and facade.
nice picture, thanks.

Bonjour Thierry
Beau cadrage du château de la Dame de Monsoreau.
Je me suis permis un petit WS pour corriger la perspective et légèrement la teinte du ciel.
Cordialement

Hi Thierry!
Good shot!! i like specially the soft blue in the sky and the light in the building.
It seems a very cold atmosphere.
Good work!
À bientôt.

Bonjour Thierry,
good pov with the road leading us right to the front door of the building. It's majestic, more of a fortress than a castle and I'm so pleased it been lovingly restored. Great colours and a superb sky. A fine image, well done.

Bonsoir Thierry

bon week end,
vincent

This is a very well composed shot. I like the POV that you chose because it makes use of the lines and of the snow. You also have a niece split toned feel to it because the sun is on the chateau and not on the road which mutes the colors. Great work!
