Photographer's Note

I took the most of the better weather yesterday in early evening to take a few pictures. The day was very rainy yesterday around Nantes, a lot of heavy showers and grey sky all day long, but the end of there was great sunnyspells at the end of the day and the light and the sky were beautiful. I took this photo close to Le Loroux-Bottereau in Muscadet vineyards, south east of Nantes. You could think this tree was put there just for photographers ! I used a graduated ND filter, I find it very efficient in such weather conditions.

a classic composition that entices and works so beautifully. The rain in the air atmosphere here is palpable and the detailing perfectly sharp. Delicious light and a really attractive image.

Voilà une belle utilisation du grand-angle, aussi bien dans la composition que dans le choix du point de vue rabaissé qui donne un bel effet sur la ligne de fuite du chemin sans trop mettre en avant le premier plan. L'inverse aurait été obtenu en prenant de la hauteur et avec un cadrage orienté vers le bas.

Je suis d'accord avec toi pour le filtre dégradé gris que j'utilise de plus en plus, et dont je préfère de plus en plus le rendu à celui du polarisant que je trouve parfois trop typé. Même si on ne peut pas vraiment les comparer.

une belle utilisation du grand angle qui donne des diagonales très dynamiques dans l'image, notamment au niveau du ciel, que tu as bien préservé grâce aux filtre dégradé.

Bonjour Olivier,
I have written a critique to this lovely photo yesterday but it was not recorded, but with a pleasure I am trying again.
Very simple yet so attractive landscape. The lone tree is pleasantly asymmetric in the frame. The aspect of the road adds a lot of interest. The use of the filter enhanced well the features of the sky.

J'aime le cadrage de cette photo. La route qui semble presqu'infinie, l'arbre solitaire...Le vert tendre, le bleu du ciel et les nuages qui s'éloignent rendent bien l'atmosphère de la journée. Très belle photo !
