Photographer’s Note
Diorama inside the chapel of St. Genevieve, forming part of the chateau d'Angers.
It was in the ninth century that the chapel Ste Genevieve was built for the occupants of the castle and at the end of the century it receives the relics of the Bishop of Rouen St Laud. Destroyed by a fire at the end of the eleventh century, it was rebuilt by the Bishop of Martigné Renaud on June 8, 1104. Burned again during the fire of 1131, it was rebuilt by Henry Plantagenet. Only parts of this primitive chapel, in the gallery housing the tapestries of the Apocalypse. It was Yolande of Aragon, Duchesse d'Anjou, which has built, circa 1410, the Church that we see now. It has been refined and completed by King Rene in 1451.
This is an example of colorful diorama visible in the chapel. It is a fitting HDR, with slightly saturated colors to make you think a little more, the unique beauty of this sculpture at its creation.
