Photographer’s Note
We were in Angers, France, in the early 1980s and found an old church which had been transformed into a haven for sculpures from all over the city which had been displaced by redevelopment. I was attracted by the play of light in the building and the contrasts of the ancient church with a modern roof and the statues ranging from the 15th to the 19th centuries.
