Photographer's Note
Welcome to the "valley of willows", at the top of the estuary, where the sea air meets the light of the countryside, where, "miracously", a hundred years ago blew the breath of inspiration.
Pont-Aven is a place to see, and it invites you with all its charm, with its shop windows and galleries and with its memories of Gaugain and Emile Bernard.
Cross the bridge, wander in the streets, ascending and descending, go over the footbridges, enjoy the fresh air in the harbour, just stroll around.
This picture is taken in Pont-Aven, a beautiful place in Brittany (Bretagne), where a lot of people are painting or drawing a nice scene. It was very busy with painters, when I was there, but I know why...

I feel very welcome, thanks. No wonder Gaugin and Bernard were great, if all you have to do is walk around this scenery and paint all day, how can you fail? :o) I guess there was a bridge, but to me it looks like you were doing your best Jesus impression :o)

Despite the very bright sky, you've given us a sumptuous image that is wonderfully inviting with the tree, the flowers and the building facade guiding our eye toward the distant building with its delightful roofline and delicately framed wooden windows. This is a rich feast for the eyes with rich colors and varied textures. This is a very fine image Hans, well done.

In most of your pics, I notice the importance of flowers in the composition.. and how right you are ! They give the color touch which often enhances a view.
It is really charming, what a pity the sky is over exposed.. but it was certainly the price you had to pay for capturing the shadows of this place..

Excellent. Seems like a painting itself. It's really a pitty that the sky is so flat. Great composition though.

Je laat ons zien een echte samenstelling van natuur & architectuur! Het hele compositie is zo harmonisch. Ik vind het een hele mooie plek, en je bent geluksvogel omdat je daar bij kan zijn! ;-)
Technisch gezien, foto is "just cool", omdat het weer was zeker niet prachtig. Ik kan zien en bijna voelen de koude (frisse)kleuren van de scene. Bloemen staan dan nog precies op de juiste plek.
Well done, Hans.

A very pretty shot, and a very pretty place, nicely framed by the various elements, and carefully focussed on the sluice using the conventional thirds. Pts tomorrow

Sorry Hans - I missed your shot #100 :-)
You captured the atmosphere of this beautiful place very fine - I can hear running water and birds sing - oh yes and the smell of the flowers - very fine work - thanks.

Beautiful village. I like that you have combined three pretty elements. The nice buildings, the water and the flowers. That reflection on the water disturbs me a little, but ok.. I like it a lot!

Wow, what a nice place! :) No wonder many people want to paint that. :D It's wonderful. :) I think the houses are built very nice. :D Nice shot! I really like it. :)

Very beautiful place you've seen! The composition is excellent. I especially like two colour accents like two touches on the picture - the brown frame of verandah and lilac heads of flowers at the very right. Elegant.

So here I find a trace of you Hans :-))
I am happy to find a nice POV on the river, and at the bottom a view to the main restaurant room of the "moulin de Rosmadec" (Mael Rosmadec). This one is a reminiscence to me, being there so many times in my chilhood for family parties like Baptems, weddings ( not mines) and my maternal Gran mother birthdays.
This one have not changed for years (50 years ago I started to visit this place).
Crossing the road from the entrance of the restaurant I am sure you have bought famous "pallets" TRAOU MAD, a special Breton pancake or "dry" crèpes dentelles
Friendly
