St-Malo is somewhat overrepresented, but I could not find a panorama taken from this angle, so here is one, taken in the morning from the city walls I believe? it was a while ago. Stitch of 3 landscape photos using photostitch, please click on the miniscule version to make it grow.
EDIT - date taken is 07-1996 not 07-2000, not that it matters much.

Great work again Tan, very good view and excellent detail..
How do you send long posts? What are the procedures & limitations?
PJE (20758) 2006-05-18 22:31
Tan excellent work capturing this pan photo. You are getting very good at presenting pan photos. I love the low angled lighting and how the photo has water shown on both sides. A very interesting place. Honestly I think you travel too much taking photos from all over the world. When do you actually work? Must be nice!!!! Cheers!
Cormac (26545) 2006-05-18 22:47
Hi Tan - This is an amazing shot! I like the way you can see the water on both sides with the city sandwiched between. The peak of the roof running down the middle is a great touch too helping to divide up the frame (which is always an issue with panoramas in my opinion). Great work!
singuanti (15250) 2006-05-18 22:55
Cool shot Tan! There's a big difference between the standard and hi-res version. I just love the peak in the middle bottom. I've never even heard of this place before so it's all new to me! Spectacular shot Tan!

Nice panorama. The clouds are great. In case you didn't know: St Malo is the hometown of Jacques Cartier, who "discovered" Canada in 1534 (at least that is what we are taught as schoolchildren...)
rafelito (3648) 2006-05-18 23:54
Hi Tan, Excellent panoramic vew, wonderful colors and sky. Many regards, Rafael

To tell you the truth, this is the first photo I see from Saint-Malo and it looks terrfic. Your point of view allows us to have a good idea about the configuration of this city. The effect of panoramic is absolutely impressive in large version.
As usual, your colours and composition are stunning.
It was a shame that I had no idea about Saint-Malo, which is closely tight with Quebec history but thanks to you, I’m now less dummy.
Have a great weekend!

Très beau point de vue pour ce panorama bien réussi. J'aime aussi beaucoup le ciel.
jjcordier (73704) 2006-05-19 1:21
Very good panorama, Tan. Lignt, colours and composition are stunning.
L'office de tourisme de Saint Malo serait certainement enchanté de pouvoir disposer d'une aussi belle vue de sa ville.

very nice one Tan,
a fantastic view and very nice in the LP version, good sharpnes, good sky and very nice to look at, good job.
mjdundee (4663) 2006-05-19 3:17
it is well presented, but always looks like a window to the past. Take away the cars and this would be the same sight many hundered years ago. Well done. TFS. Thomas

Beautiful panorama with a wonderul light. The dark clouds make an excellent contrast with the nicely lit buildings in the foreground. The stiching work is perfect and the details on the large version are amazing. This would make a wonderful advertising poster for the city.
Have a nice day.
Angshu (54909) 2006-05-19 4:31
Wonderful panorama photo Tan! The larger one is awesome. I love the light here & the contrast in the sky..clear on the right & dark cloudy on the left
sebinho342 (19317) 2006-05-19 6:53
Thanks so much Tan for the gift !!!!
A great picture from St Malo, I took 30 sec to find from where you tool it ;) As usual you like to be "above", to have good landscape from high POV, the result here is an unusual picture of "intra-muros" that goes straight in my favorites ! :))
lukie (0) 2006-05-19 7:15
maybe overrepresented, but with a good reason : it's simply beautiful, this old town. (I also posted last year some photos of it)
Is the picture taken from the "Hotel de Ville" ? Anyhow, a nice panorama.
rbcy1974 (20758) 2006-05-19 7:53
what an excellent POV and perspective, I cant remember seeing such a good view from the walls, like always the dramatic sky seems to follow you everywhere.
Loic_bzh (7646) 2006-05-19 7:56
I love your pict. It shows perfectly how fast the weather can change in Brittany, giving diferents light and colors to the landscape.
Gerrit (44753) 2006-05-19 10:41
Remarkable town, good panorama, great sky,
thanks and rgards, gerrit
sleon (9402) 2006-05-19 11:14
That impressive sky seems to follow you about on your travels! I have only ever passed through this town to take the ferry but it seems like a place worth stopping to enjoy. I particularly like the way we can see the sea on both sides of the frame. Have a nice weekend!
gilou530 (34) 2006-05-19 12:12
génial le pano avec ce ciel qui donne toute la force a l'image, la version large est superbe également bravo
Paolo (41222) 2006-05-19 12:12
Hi Tan, also that time your Pano view are wonderful!
a great view over the St Malò roofs with the bell tower in the middle and a wonderful contrast between the the left side with a grey bad sky ad the clear sky and sea on the right.
excellent POV, and great colours and light.
and have a nice w.e.
Tue (26740) 2006-05-19 15:08
Excellent large version! I love this view over the town. The lighting and colours are very pleasant and I like the clouds at the left hand side of the photo. That roof in the middle is good too, well done!
xavshot (69835) 2006-05-19 15:38
Excellente qualité de la version large ; on s'y croirait : j'aime bien les nombreux détails. Belle lumière et ciel magnifique. Vraiment une belle réalisation
tcht (7565) 2006-05-19 16:58
Oh..another pano. Just enjoy your high PoV very much and what a perfect timing with those dark clouds coming in. The sky's so beautiful and of course I enjoy the details of these typical French building. Lovely pic again.
Hv a nice day :)
peter1892 (1681) 2006-05-20 5:07
Great shot Tan, put together well to form the panorama. The orginal viewpoint is certainly an advantage & gives you a good starting point to work with. I really like the way the sky is grey & cloudy on the left, but bright & blue on the right.
PixelTerror (0) 2006-05-20 6:20
A good one to enrich the already big collection of St Malo pictures, the light is pleasant and the wide version displays lot of details of the Cité Corsaire, I like the sky division as it gives the impression the clouds are invading the place from the left.
have a nice week end,
delkoo (68) 2006-05-20 7:51
nice result, good POV, sharpnees and colors
jbweasle (9373) 2006-05-20 9:40
Hello Tan, this is a very attractive panorama with strong colours and lots of detail. These are brought out well in the large pic. Somehow you seem to have a dramatic sky in all of your photos!
rhizomes (15343) 2006-05-20 9:52
Wow, what a nice image taken from a great point of view ! I like this impression on the city.
St Malo is fantastic and your shot will not change my mind !
MarekP (4750) 2006-05-20 10:17
This is a great panorama. I like the sea on both sides. Perfect stitching work -- the horizon still makes a nicely rounded line. The clouds getting denser and darker to the left are great. Very well done.
DINOZOR (16050) 2006-05-20 10:34
Hello Tan, realy superbe ! Bravo!
cherryripe (21033) 2006-05-20 16:03
Lovely panorama with lots of details and well saturated. The light is beautifully contrasted. I'm undecided about the point of the building in the foreground. Well done on the stitching.
rabdelnoor (3421) 2006-05-20 18:07
What a great panoramic view with beautiful light and colors. The town looks really great from this angle.
Didi (55145) 2006-05-21 11:02
Looks that you were sitting in an unconfortable position ont the house roof:))
Very nice view of the background.
alvaraalto (5913) 2006-05-22 18:12
This picture is very special. The perspective distortion gives this picture a beautiful ellipse. That makes a very special (almost fish-eye) composition. In addition the quality is perfect, so this is a real masterpiece.
IvarsU (2505) 2006-05-23 7:34
One remarkable picture here! The best from panoramas, for sure! You did it perfect. Clouds, water, houses making outstanding composition from great POV!
emjleclercq (15780) 2006-05-28 12:29
A very nice panorama indeed. First time I see so wide a view of Saint Malo, this Photostich software seems to work well when the pictures are nice such as these.
Regarding the location, I think you were on the castle's walls, since you have both a view of the harbor on the left and of the sea on the right. The castle is intra muros, on the right when you enter the city from the main entrance (the one most direct coming from the station, for example). Theere is a large palce in front of it.
All the best,
bazal (7900) 2006-06-19 7:24
This one is just amazing. It's not the first panorama I see on the city of St Malo (which is really photogenic, isn't it?), but it's without any doubt one of the nicest. The integration of the sharp triangular roof at the foreground, as an arrowhead leading the eye to the details of the back, was a great idea.
Thanks for sharing.
MLINES (12516) 2006-06-28 19:28
Hi Tan, Classic European buildings in this panarama. Good saturation. and excellent perspective from this POV. Interesting note about stitching 3 photos together which i have not attempted as yet. Good result. Murray.
sergio1 (12152) 2006-07-26 5:23
Excellent and magnific view. This picture is perfect, lights, pov, compo, depht, sharp all is good.
JCG (35129) 2007-03-15 8:03
I saw your album and I spent an excellent moment admiring these splendid photographs. You are a large traveller for our greater pleasure. I am originating in Brittany and I thus stop on this superb panorama of Saint-Malo. Point of view which one seldom sees. I like very much this superb sky which gives much relief to the corsair city. A very beautiful assembly, cheer.
With my all friendships of France,
VeeJayCee (2410) 2007-04-09 15:09
Hi Tan. I think you should have crawled out to the end of that roof for an unobstructed view! Just joking. This is an excellent panorama. Good detail, colour and stitching.
Yves-triga (5149) 2010-02-26 9:56
very nice panoramic view,
beautifull pov,i like soo much,
