Photographer’s Note

I've been in different cafes and bars, in different countries, but this one will always be my favourite. Going to north Brittany for the week-end without a moment at the "Crapaud Rouge" (which means "red toad" !)is just inconceivable !

You might wonder about this funny name, The Red Toad ! It cames from a game. A wooden frog was positionned on a barrel and coins were thrown. The player who threw his coin in the mouth of the frog won and gained the coins of the other players. The inhabitants of Kertugal and Tréveneuc played together this game. The inhabitants of Tréveneuc were called by the nickname of " Red Toad " (might be because of the colors of the wooden frogs". Since, this nickname is given to the persons born there !
