DUNES OF KEREMMA NEAR PLOUESCAT, BRITTANY
Those dunes constitute a very interesting place for birds and rare plants. It is protected by the "conservatoire du littoral" (coast trust).
The dunes shelter low lands (polders) that were developped during the 19th century by a man, Louis Rousseau and his wife Emma (Keremma = Emma's village). They created an agricultural colony that still survive through an association regrouping their descendants.
