-- THE SAINT-MICHEL WINDMILL --

There was a little chapel dedicated to the Archangel Michael on this hillock long ago, facing the site of the mill that is there now. The chapel was becoming a ruin around 1800, and it was decided to demolish it in 1806 and the stone was used to build the Les Sablons cemetery.
This windmill was built for the first time after 1822, and was one of the three windmills within the town (with the Malgré-Tout and Les Fontaines windmills).
The current windmill dates from 1875 and was in use until 1910.
It has been the property of the town since 1971.

This mill was already presented by our friend Jean-Michel (jmdaoudal) : here, there and also here.

Photo catch by my new camera SONY Cybershot DSC H9.

Good evening or day with all.
