Photographer’s Note

All the good things having an end, I return among you and I am very happy !!!
Then to make the transition with my last publication here a photograph from the Casino beach photographed from another angle and under a lighting which I liked much.
This is the big Saint-Quay beach around which the seaside resort has developed. It faces east, and its fine sand attracts quite a number of people. You can swim there in perfect safety, from the raft, for instance, as the beach is watched over by lifeguards from the first-aid post which overlooks the beach from the 1st July to the 31st August.
A lot of leisure activities for young and old alike are on offer:
Municipal sailing school: beginner's courses and more advanced work on centre-board sailing dinghies and windsurfs, supervised by qualified instructors.
there are two beach clubs for the younger children.
The Centre de Loisirs de Jeunes (Young Peoples' Leisure Centre): a wide range of activities for young people aged 13 to 17 is on offer.
You can play beach volley on a specially-prepared area as well, or, once you have got dressed, go and have a drink or have a flutter in the Casino, have a look round an art exhibition in the Centre des Congrès (Convention Centre) which overlooks the beach, or listen to a concert on the Casino esplanade.
And you only have to cross the road to have a ride on the magnificent merry-go-round dated 1900, or a game of mini-golf, or to do some shopping or just look round the shops. Tourism office of Saint-Quay-Portrieux

Une belle carte postale de vacances que tu proposes pour ta reprise. Celà ne doit pas être la même chanson aujourd'hui car nous avons pluie et vent. Celà te consolera peut-être un peu.

It's always sad when holidays are at an end, but then it is good to be back at home (not so good to be back at work!:D) The quality of the image is very high, with pin-sharp details throughout the whole scene. Your high POV gives a good overview of the area.

it is nice to have you around with us again! But it is a pity that holidays are coming to an end, especially when they are taking place at such a wonderful seaside resort where one won't get bored due to the mentioned activities.
I must confess that I like the photo in WS even more. But this impression is also very pleasant where the sharpness and the management of the light are excellent. TFS!

c'était de sacré vacances, je ne peux pas en dire autant, pas aussi longue, mais je vois qu'il y a un brin de nostalgie avec cette photo qui fait suite a la précédente, mais le ciel ne présage pas du beau temps alors pas de regret, une bien joli courbe de cette plage,

I like the fine curve of the beach, and the varied architecture makes a fine background...
The summer atmosphere is well preserved, hopefully we will have some fine autumn days with the seasonal colours at its best later this year..!

Bonjour Jean-Charles,

La courbe de la plage est un atout à la composition. La présence des baigneurs et baigneuses a un effet d'échelle de grandeur. La prise de vue permet de voir les détails et les couleurs des immeubles qui sont situés proche du bord de mer. La lumière du matin met en valeur les couleurs de l'image. Bonne journée.

Nice summer resort, I like the combination of old and new architecture. The WS looks also great and let us see more traditional houses. I definitely like those ones more than that new yellow and white hotel. But the cloudy sky is not exactly what you expect in a summer holiday at the seaside, although is a beautiful sky...

Bonjour Jean-Charles.
Je vois que tu rentres avec douceur dans le monde du travail avec ces deux photos de vacances. J'aurais préféré la photo du WS mais la principale n'est pas mal non plus. La plage est bien animée et l'environnement est superbe (le gros immeuble jaune est de trop mais apparemment ce n'est pas de ta faute !)

Pour une fois, je crois que je prefere le WS au post principal. Le cadrage s y deploie bien en profondeur et le premier plan montre bien les vacanciers dans une pose dynamique.
Il y avait un beau ciel ce jour la, ca donne une belle ambiance.

je comprends très bien pourquoi tu aimes cette lumière, elle est fantastique et crée une atmosphère réellement intéressante.
Les différents styles de l'architecture que nous voyons dans l'image ont un fort graphisme, et un contraste élégant avec ce joli paysage de plage et de mer.
La lumière et le coloris de la photo sont au top, j'aime sa qualité et son grand attrait à vue.

L'océan se montre ici calme comme la mer Méditerranéenne ou j'habite.

Si l'on passait l'année entière en vacances ; s'amuser serait aussi épuisant que travailler ! Heureusement, les photos restent pour témoigner notre passage et la joie (en général) que nous avons eue à profiter des vacances que l'on juge souvent trop courtes. Un cadrage valorisant bien un moment de détente malgré un ciel ombrageux.
