Photographer’s Note

Panoramic view on river Belon, at a place called Le Guilly, on the road from Moëlan-sur-Mer to Riec-sur-Belon. River Belon is very known for its famous oysters. Since Ancient History oysters were collected on wild oysters shoals. Oyster farming has arrived on the banks of river Belon only during 19th century, in 1864 exactly. Oysters reproduction and growth doesn't occur in river Belon but in other places such as Morbihan Gulf, Cancale, Morlaix, bay ... River Belon is just a place for refinement and shipment of oysters. Refinement is the last stage of oysters life, but the most important. It is the stage where oysters batten and get their so particular nuts taste, due to a mix of sweet water and salt water in river Belon. No need to say oyster farmings have a lot of activity these weeks, a few days before Christmas and New Year's Day !

This panoramic was made with a stitch from 3 pictures with Autostitch. First time I try to post one on TE ... Thanks to Bibiweb for her help ;)
