Photographer’s Note

Today is the first day of Advent! Have you got your Advent calendar out?
The Christmas lights have come up in the streets, and many people are getting into the spirit!
Last year, I posted two cribs from my region. This year I have got two more to post. I have opened a theme: " Crêches de Noël, Nativities ", and I am hoping people will add to it!
There used to be an exhibition of cribs from all over the world at the "Chateau de Trévarez", St Goazec, Finistère, but the "conseil général du Finistère" have stopped it for some reason or other, which is a great pity! Fortunately, I have been able to put my own exhibition on line, with the help of fellow members, especially Adores. Thank you Ana!
Here is the crib at St Corentin's cathedral in Quimper. I hope you will enjoy it. You 'll find more about the building in the WS.
PS. I am not over religious! In fact, I believe in what is good in all religions; and I believe in Friendship and Love all over the world! That should be the true spirit of Christmas, and I very much like the symbolic of the birth of Jesus, who came to encourage that LOVE.

Bonsoir Marie-Louise,

Eh oui Noël c'est dans pas longtemps maintenant... Que le temps passe vite. !!! Effectivement les décorations commencent déjà à fleurir un peu partout et qui vont être l'occasion de belles photos. Belle et agréable lumière sur cette crèche, les santons portent de beaux hatits donnant une belle touche de couleur à l'image. Merci pour les photos complémentaires intéressante et qui mettent bien en valeur la belle architecture de cette cathédrale.

Avec toutes mes amitiés et un très bon dimanche, peut-être sous le vent toi aussi...

It's beautiful Marie Louise, you've got the light just right so the exposure allows all the beautiful colors. The depth of field seems to me to be very good too as you can feel the space well. I love the idea of sharing the creches from all over. I'll try to get a nice one from Bellingham. Happy Advent to you and your family as well. I'll have to get our Advent wreath out, actually a log with holes drilled in it for the candles. It's a lovely tradition and the world could really use some peace and love right now don't you agree.

pleasant addition of a christmas scene, well done in that light. The open view into that is lovely and I like the good contrasts in that difficult light. Nice view of the cathedral which I have seen myself a long time ago.

Bonjour Marie-Louise,
En suivant le lien vers le theme j'ai vu qu'il y a pas mal de photos de creches finalement. Celle ci est bien exposee mais cadree un poil trop haut. Cen genre de photos permet de faire passer nos traditions a des gens qui n'en ont pas idee.

C'est très bon d'apercevoir qui Noël n'est pas seulement quelque chose qui le commerce utilise pour vendre encore plus. Ce crèche est très charmante et tu l'as chassé très bien (beaux couleurs et excellente netteté).
Peut-être un POV plus ouvert qui ne coupait pas le mouton à droite résultait encore mieux.
J'aime bien le thème.

I see you have posted your first one. It's very good, composition and light, just a pitty you cut the lamb a little, as José noticed. But I like it, seems they are in a cave, great atmosphere and note is good also. I'll see if I can visit the first one this weekend.

Intéressante approche de la crèche où le p'tit Jésus semble irradier, le flash n'est pas trop fort sur l'avant-plan, mais je ne me vois pas entrer dans l'église armé d'un tripode :)
Mais je rejoins l'avis de notre ami La Terreur pour le cadrage.
